Guest guest
BTW, I'm cross posting, so if you get this twice, sorry! For those who order their supplements online, using either UPS or FedEx to deliver them (as I do), I'm asking for advice. I'm having trouble receiving my packages! I've just had two separate experiences this week which have totally upset me. The first was a shipment of pet supplies which weighed close to 40 lbs, to be delivered by FedEx. The man rang my bell and left a huge heavy box just inside the door and split. He didn't even identify himself, but as I was expecting the package I ran downstairs to get it. (If I'm not quick, packages disappear.) I had to break down the box, and carry the items upstairs one step at a time. It was difficult as there were four separate heavy items. Today, UPS ground, who was delivering my monthly order of supplements from Vitacost did not ring my bell, but left my package worth over $140 outside IN THE STREET! I don't live in some idyllic small town where that might seem reasonable, but in Manhattan, New York City. An unguarded package might last about five minutes, if that. I called both Vitacost and UPS. Let's hear it for the tact of Vitacost's customer service. When I told her what had happened she laughed, I guess because I was so upset! If we had been face to face she wouldn't have found me quite so funny! She told me that if I'd pay another $140 they would replace the order. Oh, gee thanks! That's the last they will EVER see of me. UPS was more conciliatory. They assured me that they didn't think I was lying. Apparently it will take 8 business days to " investigate. " I suggested they throw in a psychiatric evaluation for the moron who left my stuff in the street. As bad as these two services are, the post office is even worse. They never notify me if I have a package. I have to be lucky enough to stumble over it. Books are usually safe. No one in my building seems to be a reader. If anyone has a system which works, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks for letting me vent... Dianne
Guest guest
Goodness & you'd pay enough for the service? Now when I have things arrive by courier it is a lovely man who RINGS me (my driveway is nearly 1/2 km) and tells me the parcel is here - he actually lifted an airconditioner (32kg) into my car, came down the drive with me and carried it into the house AND brought my garbage bins in while he was waiting for me - I am amazed!! Mountain BLue Service it's called - amazing! I drove him back up the drive again - he says his truck wouldn't make it back up my drive and was more than prepared to walk back up too - but I wouldn't hear of it! (Most things go to the Post Office where they wont help at all regardless of how heavy the parcel is) Jane + hugs ) Speaking of UPS, a knock was on my door at 7:15PM and a swansons box is there...the UPS man is gone. Often, a box is outside my door for a few hours if I'm out....but so far so good, we're in a quiet area and I do live in an apt..< As I said earlier, my guess is that the men and women who deliver for FedEx and UPS have had their schedules ramped up until they are attempting to meet them by being slipshod. I'm reminded of the Chaplin classic Modern Times in which he is working on an assembly line which keeps being speeded up until Chaplin is actually sucked into the machinery. I'll bet this is a huge issue with stolen delivery packages...worldwide....< And likely to get worse. I've seen a big difference even in the last six months. My UPS guy didn't even ring my bell, just left the package in the street and bolted. There's a website called the complaints board. I think I will post my experience there. The woman at Vitacost laughed when I mentioned how dissatisfied I was. Maybe she'd like to try laughing on the unemployment line. Unfortunately, I didn't ask for her name. I usually do. Guest guest
I've had no complaints on delivery overall, sadly EVERYTHING with customer service has declined in our country.....  ________________________________ To: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Sent: Tuesday, May 8, 2012 11:34 PM Subject: Receiving packages from UPS or FedEx  Speaking of UPS, a knock was on my door at 7:15PM and a swansons box is there...the UPS man is gone.
