Guest guest
Thank you for sharing this, . It is astounding & distressing to know how autistic children & their families are being treated in France & no doubt other countries, too. It is sad that erroneous belief systems are getting in the way of effective & compassionate treatment of people who are already suffering to start with. Merra > > Greetings: > > A friend sent mine sent me a link to this article asking, if I saw this???? It is a new film out of France titled, " The Wall " that some are trying to ban. I don't even have words to describe what I felt reading the article or viewing part of this film? Is France so out of touch with world views on autism??????? I think the lead in to the film below sums it up perfectly. I am in a state of shock watching this film and totally speechless............... Is this how they are training future students in autism??? Shame on France, but that is just my personal opinion....... > > > > > French Psychoanalysts Take Legal Action to Ban Film 'The Wall' About Autism > http://www.huffingtonpost.com/chantal-sicile-kira/the-wall-film-autism_b_1127680\ ..html > > Film with English subtitles @ > > THE WALL, OR PSYCHOANALYSIS PUT TO THE TEST FOR AUTISM > This 52 minutes movie is the result of 4 years of investigation among 30 psychiatrists and psychoanalysts in France, that shows the way they see autism and deal with children with autism. Some of them are in charge of pedopsychiatry departments in hospitals today. 50 years of progress in science do not seem to have had any influence on their dogmatism. > > > http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xlowfu_the-wall-or-psychoanalysis-put-to-the-te\ st-for-autism_news >
Guest guest
Bill, Not aware of any other delivery difficulties, but how would anyone know that they hadn't received messages? Sounds to me as if we're talking about posting difficulties rather than delivery difficulties in this case. Anyway, assuming your below was a resend, I can confirm the original hasn't shown up here so far. --- Re: Article~French Psychoanalysts Take Legal Action to Ban Film 'The Wall' About Autism Date: Thu, 12 Jan 2012 01:02:30 -0800 Reply-To: aspires-relationships To: aspires-relationships *SNIP SNIP* [The original of this response to was sent four hours ago - still hasn't arrived on the List. Is anyone experiencing non-deliveries?]
Guest guest
Oh sorry Bill! Please disregard my last posting. After double-checking I find I was wrong and Delyth was right. I did receive your original post timed on Wed, 11 Jan 2012 at 21:01:10 -0800 after all. ------- > Hi Bill > > I did receive the original at the time it was sent. > > Delyth

I sent XX to ASPIRES, which sent it on to you and to Delyth (at least) -- but not send it on to me. Interestingly, I didn't get Delyth's post either. So, apropos of your earlier response to me, it does seem something's amiss with ASPIRES' *delivery* - to me - and not with my posting to ASPIRES. Comforting. But this *doesn't* mean ASPIRES itself is faulty. On other evidence, now I believe it's my local cable company (Comcast, FWIW) which is notorious for dropping connections and " doubling " transmissions -- inter alia. My wife now sporadically is getting multiple copies of some emails to her; the telltale clue. Sigh! Technology!! Ain't it wunnerful? Sorry to bother everyone. -Bill ...AS, retired geneticist, ...and pi$$ed > > ------- > >> Hi Bill >> >> I did receive the original at the time it was sent. >> >> Delyth > ------------------------------------ -- WD " Bill " Loughman - Berkeley, California USA http://home.earthlink.net/~wdloughman/wdl.htm

Comforting. Yes, I agree with that conclusion now Bill because I've checked on the website and verified that your original, namely... Message-ID: Date: Wed, 11 Jan 2012 21:01:10 -0800 ....coincides with the copy I received on my e-mail client, and there was no undue delay in my copy reaching me > But this *doesn't* mean ASPIRES itself is faulty. When Comcast and the like discover that some of their customers' e-mails are getting lost, they tend to rerun their backup copy before they've actually isolated the fault, so people who weren't actually affected by the original outage end up getting duplicates. You must have been in the outage area in this case, so you didn't get either the original or Comcast's duplicate. Their procedures are a bit too rough and ready IMHO! > Sigh! Technology!! Ain't it wunnerful? Sorry to bother everyone. " Don't let technology get on top of you " is my motto. It's meant to be there for our benefit, not the other way round! Hence my typical Aspie compulsion to dig into the detail of what happened in this case. (retired ex telecoms guy)
