Yes Yes yes! The hand washing- 40 times a day- and this was from a kid who before PEG was our laidback balanced daughter-Diane http://mitochondrialdepletionsyndrome.blogspot.com/ To: "miralax " <miralax > Sent: Monday, June 4, 2012 9:31 PM Subject: OCD PEG behaviors

has anyone noticed a obsession with rinsing their hands over and over in the tub after taking PEG? How about constantly looking at every little thing like it's a 10 Karat diamond ring? Examining it to the enth degree? Having to fiddle / touch with something constantly while trying to think? repetitive clucking, clapping, hand flapping, grimacing?

Thanks Diane, see, these are the neuro-behaviors, no one connects with the drug, they typically think their child has picked up some strange behavior, and how could they? It says the only side effects could be nausea, bloating, and excess gas on the insert. Even though, they claim and advertise it doesn't cause nausea, bloating, and excess gas! RED FLAGS!!!!!!!!!!How did this ever happen?????? Thank you for sharing...................Jeanie To: "miralax " <miralax >Sent: Tue, June 5, 2012 6:02:59 AMSubject: Re: OCD PEG behaviors

When I connected the dots after googling that all these new symptoms that happened with her might be Miralax- I freaked out! After 72 hours so much settled down and disappeared.. now a couple months later the OCD/anxiety flares for a few minutes only when she is sick or tired- so we are hoping she will heal the rest of the way from the damage..I have been posting every where warning folks about Miralax- they all think I am nuts and say- "but the dr. said it is perfectly safe!"Diane http://mitochondrialdepletionsyndrome.blogspot.com/ To: miralax Sent: Tuesday, June 5, 2012 6:12 AM Subject: Re: OCD PEG behaviors

Diane, my dd only took for 10 days and she still exhibits these behaviors and it's been 10 years now. It took her about 8 years to get better...........seems it took different time frames for certain symptoms to improve. I pray they move quickly on this...............To: "miralax " <miralax >Sent: Tue, June 5, 2012 6:18:25 AMSubject: Re: OCD PEG behaviors

Abby took it about 6 months.. everyday we see small improvements- but it is so hard to tell because of her mitochondrial disease- which the symptoms could be either..We thought her Mito disease had suddenly started progressing- that is what the drs kept telling us- thank god my gut told me to look up the Miralax- I cannot even to bring myself to think how bad things would be if we had kept her on it....her hair is still falling out 2 months later, but it has slowed.. I figure that was the tail end of the contamination- and hopeful it will start growing again. 8 years later- that is terrible... I lose my breath thinking about how many people and children are being damaged by this stuff and don't know it...I pray they move on this fast

Diane, see below, we use fresh lemonade. From what I'm understanding, the FDA discussed metabolic acidosis as a result from this chemical which means there's too much acid in the blood. Lemons are alkaline................My dd was diagnosed with metabolic syndrome ----- Forwarded Message ----To: miralax Sent: Wed, May 13, 2009 3:55:12 PMSubject: EG the same as PEGJeanie take a look at this. Says here that they used eg to induce oxalates. Lemon juice removed them. Thought anyone who was trying to detox miralax should be considering lemonade. What do you think????NattalieAbstractBackgroundThe use of herbal medicines (medicinal plants or phytotherapy) has recently gained popularity in Europe and the United States. Nevertheless the exact mechanism of the preventive effects of these products is still far to be clearly established, being its knowledge necessary to successfully apply these therapies to avoid stone formation.MethodsThe effect of oral lemon juice administration on calcium oxalate urolithiasis was studied in male Wistar rats.

Rats were rendered nephrolithic by providing drinking water containing 0.75% ethylene glycol [v/v] (EG) and 2% ammonium chloride [w/v] (AC) for 10 days. In addition to EG/AC treatment, three groups of rats were also gavage-administered solutions containing 100%, 75% or 50% lemon juice [v/v] (6 ìl solution/g body weight). Positive control rats were treated with EG/AC but not lemon juice. Negative control rats were provided with normal drinking water, and were administered normal water by gavage. Each group contained 6 rats. After 10 days, serum samples were collected for analysis, the left kidney was removed and assessed for calcium levels using flame spectroscopy, and the right kidney was sectioned for histopathological analysis using light microscopy.ResultsAnalysis showed that the rats treated with EG/AC alone had higher amounts of calcium in the kidneys compared to negative control rats. This EG/AC-induced increase in kidney calcium

levels was inhibited by the administration of lemon juice. Histology showed that rats treated with EG/AC alone had large deposits of calcium oxalate crystals in all parts of the kidney, and that such deposits were not present in rats also treated with either 100% or 75% lemon juice.ConclusionThese data suggest that lemon juice has a protective activity against urolithiasis. Background To: "miralax "

Thanks! My daughter is tested every 6 months - Mito falls into metabolic disorder/neuromuscular.. so far everything has been normal(ish).. but you are right lemon is terrific to balance- we make homemade lemonade with organic lemons we keep in the fridge- she seems to go through spurts where she "craves" it.. I have to wonder if her body is trying to "balance". A lot of studies recently have even suggested that lemon has benefits beyond what I had heard before- it is a terrific cleanse as well... Our biggest battle is the "leaky gut" " IBS" it triggered- if she eats more then 800 calories a day it flares her chronic pancreatitis(that I blame on the PEG)and causes a few days of mal absorption... She has always had food allergies, but trying

to heal her gut has consumed our lives right now.. she is dairy, soy, nut, high histamine, oatmeal, corn, gluten free- and a quite a few other foods- the PEG triggered a huge new array of food issues as well... sigh.. so if I can control the mal absorption it seems to keep her metabolically on track.. but her B is very low and her bilirubin continues to stay high(that too showed up with the PEG)... What upsets me the most with the PEG damage is the neurological damage with the OCD/Anxiety.. though it is gobs better, I have to wonder if it will ever go away. Even though we had accepted her body lagging from the Mito it always gave us comfort that her mind was untouched and perfect- and to see the PEG take that from her - ticks me off on so many levels..Unfortunately- all these issues are very common in the Mito world- so of course the Drs. will not admit it could have been caused by

the PEG...UGH! Diane http://mitochondrialdepletionsyndrome.blogspot.com/ To: miralax Sent: Tuesday, June 5, 2012 6:55 AM Subject: Re: OCD PEG behaviors

has anyone noticed a obsession with rinsing their hands over and over in the tub after taking PEG? How about constantly looking at every little thing like it's a 10 Karat diamond ring? Examining it to the enth degree? Having to fiddle / touch with something constantly while trying to think? repetitive clucking, clapping, hand flapping, grimacing?

Kay, hit Ctrl, then the + sign to make your print bigger, hit Ctrl, then - sign to make it smaller..............The Drug Safety Oversight Board discussed reports of metabolic acidosis, metabolic acidosis with increased anion gap, and neuropsychiatric adverse events in children

using polyethylene glycol (PEG) products. Metabolic acidosis is a disturbance in the body's acid-base balance and causes too much acid in the blood. In some situations, metabolic acidosis can be a mild, chronic condition; however, it may lead to shock or death in severe cases. has anyone noticed a obsession with rinsing their hands over and over in the tub after taking PEG? How about constantly looking at every little thing like it's a 10 Karat diamond ring? Examining it to the enth degree? Having to fiddle / touch with something constantly while trying to think? repetitive clucking, clapping, hand flapping, grimacing?
