Lola, i take a good number of joint alternatives and glucosomine is one of them,

but don't know how much it helps, wonder if I need to take more or do you have

any idea on the glucosomine dosing.  Can a person take too much, I have 1000mg

capsules...I just did some muscle testing and got a strong reply with 2 caps of

1000mg....so would that be 2 caps daily.

I worry about thhe otc pain meds, but I deal with so much pain issues since my

hip replacement, everything worse....

I take milk thistle, digestive enzymes and probiotics daily and have been for a

long time and stomach doesn't bother me...BUT....  thanks..joyce

Hi, Mara.  I have used DMSO for quite some time, both topically and

internally and haven't had any problems.

That being said... I had to take antibiotics for while a few years back

and, in spite of taking lots of probiotics and yogurt, experienced horrible

stomach and gut pains after a while.  When I complained to my surgeon, he

handed me a bottle of Mylanta..lol.. Gee.. thanks doc.  I felt like I had

eaten ground glass..

Long story, short...  I ended up taking a product put out by Lane Labs

called " Nature's Lining " .  It literally can help to strengthen weak areas

of the stomach.. rebuild them and thicken them.  My experience with this

product is that.. after using a whole bottle and part of another (about a

month and 1/2), I haven't had to take it any more and I no longer

experience gut or stomach pain and it has been several years since this

happened.

If this is your friend's problem, it can be an easy fix and relatively

inexpensive.  If memory serves, you just chew one capsule with meals.

Now.. let me also say that I have never had a problem with gerds etc.  I do

feel like the antibiotic really did a number on me and the Nature's Lining

'cured' the damage.

I too, took ibuprophen for years and had stopped taking it a year or so

before my surgeries (I broke my back yrs ago and have unrelenting

pain). She needs to get off the ibuprophen, take shark cartilage or bovine

cartilage and hyaluronic acid etc... There are things 'out there' that can

help with inflammation and pain that won't have the side effects of

ibuprophen.  Lola
