I saw KC and Sharon but it was on a show called Bio.com or something.

The A & E channel had the intervention show so I just checked all the

channels and I found it. It was in the 100's channel here. I couldn't

believe that hook in KC. You are very lucky to be alive KC. Sharon must

have been so upset. Glad you made it and you are here for all of us to

enjoy. God Bless you both. --

Wow. It was harder to watch today than last night. Good job and I

truly appreciate you taking the time.

My opinion on how this was aired overall they did an excellant job

without many twists and turns on how this all came to be. Of course

it's a big disappointment that they cut out the most important part,

the cause of Sharon's condition. Again the media didn't do as they

said they would, they promised me during the interview and after

editing. A & E had contacted me several weeks ago and I had asked them

what was being aired concerning Sharon's condition, along with what I

do. At first all they told me was she was ill.

I responded to them if that's all they were going to say to pull the

story, I was not signing the release. Several days later they

responded and said the 2 or 3 sentences of the cause of her illness

would be included. Obviously I was lied to again.

In my response to them concerning those 2 or 3 sentences I had said

apparently the reasoning for removing this segment was because New

Zealand was battling there own severe problem. Many had been diagnosed

with Lupus, ALS, etc, I know, I have spoken to several from that area.

Who said censorship wasn't alive and well in the media!

I tried.

I agree, I still can't believe that hook missed all the vitals. When

the surgeon first saw me he thought the same and that I missed both

the main vein and artery. It was right in between both of them. I

would have to say the worst part of that day was not the accident

itself, but when they seperated us and I was flown to Atlanta and I

had a friend drive Sharon, my trip was 20 minutes hers was 2 hours.

I told the paramedic in flight that I don't like their seating

arrangements, first time on a chopper all I could see was the sky

and the blades. They wouldn't allow me to look out the window.

Considering the condition I was in he couldn't believe not only was

I joking, but I was never in any pain. That's hard to figure.

Thanks for posting K.C.'s interview on YouTube, and giving us the

links to them. I was blown away by the impact of what happened to

him. I'm going to try to save it to my computer, so I can play it

anytime I get an attack of the " POOR SUFFERING ME'S " ---K.C.- You've

been to hell and back-God bless you.

KC and Sharon, it is so good to see how strong your love is for each

other. I can't imagine that long drive for Sharon. How long did it

take you to recover from that terrible accident? I remember it was in

Reader's Digest wasn't it? Again, we all love you both. Forgot to

say Happy Mother's Day, been suffering a tooth ache this week and

can't get it pulled til Friday, so I am medicated. Usually never take

anything for pain. Guess I shouldn't talk about pain considering your

ordeal. hugs, ---

missed it or did not get the channel so I was happy to do it.

I know you did KC. Think of it this way though, if they had let your next

sentance of just what she was ill from and just that it would have probobly not

be understood or discounted but many viewers. I think you know what I mean. I

was thinking though in the future, I believe the show will be a success for

awhile at least and there could indeed be a place to explain her full story.

Thats really how it needs to be don with the audience that would be watching the

show. A snipit would not be unserstood by many people. We have enough people

that if enough request for that sort of episode in the future were made they

might be willing sometime. I know you tried though. And you of all people dont

need to thank me. It was the least I could do. Putting together videos is

something I enjoy doing anyway so it wasn't like it was any trouble or anything.

See KC, Its things that come out of your mouth like that that make you such a

great guy. Call me weird but I love a guy that loves his wife the way you do. It

is very admireable. I know it makes Sharon have nothing but pure respect for

you. Through all her struggles she can always be comforted and secure that your

love is unconditional. Theres not enough out there like either of the two of

you.

KC and Sharon, I had read the stories you had sent me last year on your accident

in Jan 2004, along with looking at the pictures. It truly amazes me, of how you

did survive this. It was really nice for them to put up a fund for your

medical, I hope it helped you out. I couldn't imagine dealing with everything

that you have been through, and with Sharon's illness also. You both have much

strength, and the love that shows clearly to us. God Bless both of you.

KC and Sharon,

Just watched the video. OMG! I know you are disappointed they did not go

into Sharon's illness, but a thought. Why don't you make a short video that

could also be put up on YouTube and label it part III? Change the title to

all three videos to have the words " Carstens mold " in it. That way, you

can write your own story of what you want heard.

Great job you guys! It's is really amazing with all that you have been thru

you keep on giving.

video. What a terrific job you did and you both look like I thought you

would!! I was so nice to put your voices with your faces. You did a wonderful

job and I know it must have been very difficult to relive those hrs. Your love

and devotion to each other is obvious!! God had a reason for you to be

here!! I can't thank you enough for all you have done and continue to do. God

Bless you both.

With love and prayers,

Your friend,

Yes, Thanks Chris! I couldn't get the show on the date listed and went to the

You Tube site. , Sharon, I'd say " God Bless You " , but it sounds like he

already did and no doubt you both are still here for a very important reason.

Just an amazing experience that you both showed a great deal of character,

I'd just like to thank you all for such a nice response. I would

like to address each post individually, but please allow me more

time. I just have some things I have to take care of, maybe later on

tonight.

It's been a heck of a roller coaster for everyone, especially when

you are ill and you try to stay focused on that alone, it makes it

that much difficult to accomplish anything else. I'm not speaking of

myself I'm speaking of all the citizens who have had to deal with

this.

My love for Sharon is stronger than ever. I believe your love would

only grow stronger for your spouce considering the circumstances. But

I'm realizing that's with any autoimmune disease, at least that's the

way it should be. Too often the pain and suffering along with the

stress is too much to handle for one or the other and one decides to

leave.

Believe it or not several times we have discussed this, Sharon's

thoughts not mine, that it would easier on me and the children. Yeah

right! My stress would have pegged the meter. I couldn't stand living

without her.

Hopefully today you will start feeling better. I know how painful a

tooth ache can be or a headache, which caused me much more pain than

that hook. I was not in any pain whatsoever. I was in the hospital for

2 days, they wanted to keep me for 3, but with no complications I

wanted to go home. They were worried about a secondary infection, ME

TOO. That would be a bad area to have one.

Yes, it was in the Reader's Digest.

Thanks Chris. I don't think she had any doubt the love I have for

her. She has often asked me why I continue and stay with her with

all that has happened. I know if it was me she probably would have

done the same, if not more. I know this has had a tremendous effect

on her emotions, health, appearance and general well being. But I

guess there is a blind side to that, often I don't see it at all. I

just remember who she was when I married her. For better or worse,

that's the way it should stand.

I don't think it could be said any other way. One thing that came to

mind is another show for all that have been exposed, the names have

been changed, but the stories are the same. This title should remain

the same, I SURVIVED.

Thanks Darlene. Like everyone here we all deal with one crisis at a

time, I'm no different. It's just when I go into the woods now I

leave the ropes at home. No pun intended please. (grin)

As far as the pictures they are pretty graphic, as you have seen,

but if anyone would like a copy I would be more than happy to send

them to you. Many times over those who didn't know me and saw that

picture, first things out of their mouths were " I guess he didn't

make it. " Then total surprise when I came through it with just a

thin scar.

your accident in Jan 2004, along with looking at the pictures. It

truly amazes me, of how you did survive this. It was really nice

for them to put up a fund for your medical, I hope it helped you

out. I couldn't imagine dealing with everything that you have been

through, and with Sharon's illness also. You both have much

strength, and the love that shows clearly to us. God Bless both of

you. Darlene

Thanks Joe. It was a chapter in my life I could have done without,

but the main thing is I recovered strong enough to continue the

fight. Why my life was spared I don't know, but obviously someone

else has plans for me/us. I also looked at it a different way this

is nothing compared to what all of you are having to deal with. Mine

was a surface wound, not internal so many were concerned, I just

wish it was the other way round for all to get that recognition and

treatment. So your statement " Poor suffering me " is completely

understandable. Sometimes all of you are the only way out of a deep

depression that I sometimes enter. Nothing else works quicker than

when I receive that one more phone call. Many times I have thrown my

hands up, turned my back and said that's it, I'm finished. I need to

focus on what's going on here. That may only last a day or two, I've

come to realize that train of thought is not possible and I couldn't

live with myself if I did do that.

So not even knowing thanks to everyone here, we feed on each other

strengths and often you've pulled me out of a slump without even

knowing it. Yes, you can say it's the poor pity me, but how can I

even think that knowing what my wife Sharon and everyone of you have

had to deal with.

Take care,
