Guest guest
Not related, but a family friend recently disclosed to us that he nearly lost both kidneys from taking prescription strength Celebrex. He was needing heart bypass surgery and the docs discovered this and he had to be hospitalized and taken off of it until his kidneys were cleared of the toxins. They have scheduled the surgery for late summertime. He has had to wait that long for his kidneys to recover from the Rx effects. Have heard of Ibuprophen doing bad things to stomach, intestines, etc if used steadily. Gerry > NSAIDS stands for 'non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs' such > as ibuprophen, for instance. Guest guest
Thanks for this, I've never taken Celebrex but have thought about it, the cost probably saved me from trying it....about 30 yrs ago I ended up in the ER from an old class anti-inflammatory.   I do take Advil, try to keep the dose as low as possible and take Probiotics, Digestive Enzymes and DGL (stomach lining tamer, they call it) and HOPING these are helping save my stomach and etc....   I deal with nasty OA and Fibro stuff and otherwise I'd be bed bound...so and ICE helps me a lot too, higher doses of MSM too thru the day.  joyce ________________________________ To: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Sent: Sunday, June 17, 2012 3:01 AM Subject: Re: Garnet- Applied DMSO to lower back  Not related, but a family friend recently disclosed to us that he nearly lost both kidneys from taking prescription strength Celebrex. Guest guest
Bear in mind (and this is a *huge* over generalisation), that the body gets used to stuff taken daily, depending where in the body and what it is. Receptors have a sensitivity that will learn to accommodate the environmental load. Depending what you take and where in the body it is active, it might be worth considering cycling of products, even standard foods. I live in Thailand now (originated in England) and they have a food called SomTham (a lo-so street food). It's a spicy smelly food. At first it disgusted me, then I got used to it, then I craved it. It was like an addiction - it was an addiction - to spices. If food can do that, then goodness knows what pharma can do. I see locals look in awe as I eat whole chillies that they cannot eat, and without eyes/nose etc running (it was actually the lemonade diet, or master cleanse diet with Cayenne that acclimatised me). When in England even being in the proximity of chillies would have had me sweating, but I use it as an example of how the body is able (excellent actually) at adapting. Guest guest
I am green with envy. Cayenne, Habaneros, etc are so very good for us. I have to take my Cayenne in capsule form with meals. I like to take one cap with each meal just purely for better circulation of the blood. > > Bear in mind (and this is a *huge* over generalisation), that the body > gets used to stuff taken daily, depending where in the body and what it > is. Guest guest
I would table the idea (I'm not an authority by any means) that perhaps it's worth getting some cayenne on your tongue so that it can signal the stomach what's impending in the immediate future. My 'gut' feeling ('scuse the pun) is that there's a connection there somewhere and the stomach needs a bit of warning what's going to come out of the capsule, even if it's just a few seconds.
