Guest guest
HI, i have lyme disease and just had a testing done. thats how i found out my apartment was contaminated with mold! go figure. now here is how i know that the test can be screwed up. My llmd dr. didnt do a PCR but did an IGG IGM and they came back that i never ever had lyme disease before - but i currently have lyme but of course not CDC lyme disease. hello? yeah, i am confused too. i have lyme since 1998 - CDC Positive ellisa and IGM. then another positive in 2003. after that i never tested positive for current lyme so this mold is doing something nutty to me. oh by the way i havent had a great head since that tick bit me in 1998. its been a long strange trip. i dont know if this helps or confused things more. i just know that all my blood work is kind of screwy right now. i am holding off on all tests. thyroid sonogram i have scheduled and stuff. just need to be able to breath first. roe. nne [] PCR test, mold and lyme Hi Folks: Talking to my doc today and he mentioned doing a PCR test for Lyme Disease. In all my reading about mycotoxins I remember that test and do believe Dr. S talks about it as well. Heres what I am thinking, where Lyme and mycotoxins put out similar toxins, isnt it possible that the Lyme could be a false positive because I have mycotxoins in my blood stream? You all have great heads, so just looking for opinions here. (non-medical) . Thanks!! Diane
Guest guest
Diane, Doesnt the Lyme PCR test for the actual lyme spirochete DNA in the blood? Its tough because there really isnt a reliable lyme test. I too am at a loss trying to figure out what is lyme and what is mold symptoms. > > HI, i have lyme disease and just had a testing done. thats how i found out my apartment was contaminated with mold! go figure. now here is how i know that the test can be screwed up. Guest guest
I've been wondering about the lyme/mold thing myself.I have been diagnosed with lume, just have read here about many that have. I had looked for info. before and found that ticks are also mold feeders, I have wondered if theres some connection, like a higher chance of ticks being where theres moldy homes and if they bite you and they've been eating or around the mold if it would be a way to be infected with mold toxins somehow, or a mixture of myco's and borilla (dpelling) what ever thats called. just a thought, I never really did much research there. but it's weird that so many people with myco poisoning get misdiagnosed with lyme. > > Diane, > > Doesnt the Lyme PCR test for the actual lyme spirochete DNA in the > blood? > > Its tough because there really isnt a reliable lyme test. Guest guest
I don't think its a misdiagnosis. Infection with lyme skewers the immune system and then leads to other problems such as increased mold sensitivity. The endotoxins generated by lyme bacteria stress the detox system and then it can't handle stuff like mold. In addition I have wondered if the borrelia was bioengineered or else another bug in the ticks was bioengineered as a mycoplasma, and " myco " is fungus, so there might be some cross reactivity or inability to handle mold specifically because of the organism, something that has not been investigated and probably won't be for a long long time. > > > > Diane, > > > > Doesnt the Lyme PCR test for the actual lyme spirochete DNA in the > > blood? > > > > Its tough because there really isnt a reliable lyme test.
