Guest guest
Upper GI - for those with instability --- retroflexed odontoid, brainstem compression - C1/C2 issues or already fused... remember they are not to be hyperextending your neck AND believe me with the upper GI and the choking etc... and what they have to do to put the tube down your throat it can be a big issue... I unfortunately woke up in the middle of my upper GI--- I guess not enough Versid and was shocked with what he was doing to my neck... This was before my fusion...because of this I will NOT have an upper GI... Colonoscopy...- those with advanced EDS...we can easily perforate the bowel etc...and if you have a fusion already make sure they have the fiberoptic intubation tube ready for an emergency etc... For this reason I just begged them for the new camera to swallow to go from top to bottom...(hopefully can swallow the pill) They also now have a virtual colonoscopy where they put air in the colon and quickly take pictures....sadly though we still have to go through the prep... My five cent warning today, Kathy trifecta- all surgeries multiple other conditions
