Guest guest
I don't really know of any save units but to repeat what Jeff May has recommended, put a better filter in unit than the one it comes with and clean it regularly. If you do a search, you can find his posts about what kind of filter he recommends using. I believe it's reuseable, maybe Webb? He also uses a vapor cleaner, high pressure cleaner to clean insides of it, I guess yearly? I saw a video of how to clean the inside of your air conditioner online. In this case it was a through the wall unit, but they take the 'inner part' outside and steam/vapor clean it. It came out looking like new. I wish I knew of one. I did a search not long ago but didn't end up buying one, but noticed some newer types coming out with a little better filters. I put air conditioner and filter in search to try to find models that mentioned in ad the air filter of model. What is first part of title mean, is that El? > > Hello everyone, > > I am looking for any info on window units, as mine just went out. Guest guest
I had never heard of Tad before but it looks like an interesting guy. He mentions he sells refurbished air conditioners here, under products: http://www.healthy-homes.com/ > > Hello everyone, > > I am looking for any info on window units, as mine just went out. Guest guest
Last summer we were still in our mold home. We only had one window unit which was about 20 years old. Due to the pea green scum in the pond, we could not open our windows and plus the drought was so horrible that the air was dirty outside. I found a small unit for about 150.00 at HH Greg which had an ultra violet light in it. I must say, this unit did more for the air quality than an air cleaning machine. > > > > Hello everyone, > > > > I am looking for any info on window units, as mine just went out. His son still does some of this work but it doesn't appear to be a high volume business at this point. Barb Rubin
Guest guest
That sounds promising. Does anyone know what 'EI safe' means, 'EI safe air conditioners'. I assumed environmentally safe but really don't know. --- In , " jackiebreeze " <jackiebreeze@...> wrote: > > Last summer we were still in our mold home.
