Guest guest
last month i went to my annual follow-up with my neurosurgeon in ny and my neurologist told me about how they discovered that a large segment of the population is vitamin d deficient... .so he had my vitamin d levels checked and of course my hydroxy d25 levels were at 16. so anyways.... i went to a local family doctor here in chicago to start a vitamin d therapy last thursday and he suggested that i start by taking 50,000iu of vitamin d 3x a week for the first month then 50,000 iu units once a month thereafter. well, since i started it right away i've had sooo much more energy...even hyper for the first 4 days....but besides that i've noticed that i've been getting aching pains by my sides, i guess were my kidneys are below my rib cage along with this fluttering feeling in the area as well..like i have butterflies in me or something... mainly in the mornings i notice this. but this morning however the pains were a bit worse since i've started this therapy last thursday. Is anyone else on a therapy and if so what are you doing and what are your experiences? thanks i would appreciate it alot! thanks, p.s a bit of my medical history..... Diagnosed in 2003 with chiari 1 malformation. ...my symptoms started after a car accident back in 2001. 1st surgery in 2004.....decompress ion surgery for chiari with a laminectomy at c-1 and c-2. feb. 2007- craniocervical fusion to c-5 because of cranial instability caused by a combination of car accident and diagnosis of EDS March 2007- tethered cord surgery Also.....I'm on a diet were i stay away from milk, white flour, wheat, corn, chocolate and sugar. Back in 2002 i saw a chiropractor and she did fod allergy testing on me by testing my muscle strength which is a technique in Kinesiology. This is how i got started on this diet that i mentioned. BTW- when i started off the sugar. white flour, wheat, corn and especially dairy.......sinus infections disappeared, headaches improved especially after my surgeries. The only thing though also was that dairy gave me bone pain. Also before i had my 1st surgery in 2004 I was given a Meyers injection which is basically a big vitamin C shot w/ some other vitamins in it and it helped tremendously in loosening up my muscles.. -Another thing that I discovered..... i've always been sensitive to citric acid,,,,I would break out....I was reading on a message board that this one guy who started vitamin d therapy said his acne disappeared after vitamin d therapy because he found out that the vitamin d worked in the kidneys to reduce and break down the excess citric acid in the body...so he figured out that after a while while being on vitamin d that the body got rid of the excess citric acid in his body like it should happen anyways naturally and now he's acne free....it also seems like this is the reason especially initially of starting the vitamin d therapy he was getting these pains in his kidneys...because his kidneys were finally processing this xtra citric acid in his body.....and then slowly things leveled out and the pains he got in his sides were his kidneys are stopped after a while. I'm hoping this is what is going to happen to me also....i'm just waiting. Also...caffeine makes me breal out also like coffee, who knows if this will clear up also. FINALLY..........I'm developing a theory that all my problems w/ malabsorbtion vitamin d dificiency started when i was little like before kindergarten.....because now for some crazy reason i'm remembering how I had such a hard time with milk..it would make me throw up or nautious inclding with wheat.......Everyone including my mom, doctors etc...seemed to ignore me....my constipation and stomach cramps started around this time......and I always was sick.....sinus infections, always on antibiotics. I distinctly remember when i was in the 3rd grade how I started to get cold hands and feet, how orange juice made me break out whenever i drank it....and finally how all of a sudden I went from AP classes in the second....to practically failing and just squeeking by in school by the 3rd grade...THis is when my life started to change for the worse.......again by worse i mean a slow downward spiral....where i developed multiple health problems that no one wanted to figure out. Boy do I feel like my parents, doctors etc... Dropped the Ball On Me when i was little. In my heart I know this is when my Vitamin D Deficiency started and my health from that point onwards ....went on a slow downward spiral. Last week I finally got blood done work to test for celiac desease as well and it came out abnormal. So as i suspected anyways since 2002 i have celiac desease
