Guest guest
Terrific!!! You must have read my mind Joyce....I was just going to ask how much you use. Got a particular brand recommendation? Since you think it's a good preventative for cataracts, I'll add that to my current regimen. My biggest problem with my eyes is this blasted tearing which isn't dry eye, but this Meibomian gland business apparently. The blurring from the tearing can be so obnoxious at times, it's like I'm crying. Other times I'm ok. I think there's a chemical allergic factor which working at Home Depot didn't help. I often can't go into stores without reacting negatively. Sometimes I just have to cut shopping short. Bioflavonoids are often of help. Sometimes Allegra reduces the flow, sometimes not. It's very annoying because I spend my time blinking to clear my vision, blowing my nose and wiping my eyes. Other times I'm ok thankfully. It does seem to go hand in hand with an immune system drop, so boosting that can help. I've started instilling a drop of CS in each eye when it's a flood since infection can be part of the problem. We all have something to deal with and this could be worse, I guess, since it isn't cancer or arthritis or some fatal disease. On another note....Regarding the conventional AARP, I'm not impressed. They've been after me to renew my subscription for the past 3 years, but I see no reason. They advocate the usual ineffective and even detrimental advice for seniors and haven't done anything for me except let me get a $2.50 discount on a night's stay at a motel 10 years ago. Worse yet for those of you seniors who may be AARP members, I learned that The Hartford, which is AARP's insurance company, along with Allstate and State Farm, are ALWAYS the 3 worst insurance companies every year for paying off claims, just so you know. I discovered this when I was rear ended in an auto accident and sustained a whip lash injury back in '05 and fought for 2 years with my own insurance company, State Farm, to get compensation which ended up a pittance. MI is a No Fault state so you can't sue the guilty party for more than $500 as a mini tort. If you want verification of what I said re the bad companies, you can go to FBIC where it ranks the top 100 good and bad companies. The Hartford ranks in the top 3 worst in all categories. http://www.badfaithinsurance.org/indexdetaillist.html Thanks for the input Joyce. Guest guest
Thanks Joyce. been looking into this and saw some amazing reviews at Swanson .. the different combinations are cheap and sometimes more effective than the muscadine seed alone. Thought that very interesting ... I'm sure this is good as part of a program. Taking it for a long time, and then once you run out it comes back is certainly not a cure, but sometimes a real good bandaid is needed. This is sure one of them. These 3 in particular caught my eye. Read somewhere it gave some Energy, which wd be fabulous. ---tls www.swansonvitamins.com/q?kw=grapeseed Grapeseed, Green Tea & Pine Bark Complex MegaNatural-BP Grapeseed Extract Grapeseed Re: Fw: Was Cataract recipe - a few comments - Grape Seed & OT AARP Well, grape seed ex helps SO MUCH...and my eyes are one thing that it seems to help...as I said I haven't gone to an eye doc in over 5 yrs....my eyes haven't changed....I still see as good with the same scripts I've had for years...and I wear SUNGLASSES outside all the time....when I go out for mail I put on sunglasses.... Guest guest
I like the grape seed extract BEST....it's more powerful overall.  A friend has her husband on the BP 300mg and he's doing so good on it, he deals with hypertension...she's on it too...she himmed and hawed around and finally jumped on Grape Seed Ex....she was looking at them all,, and finally took the leap...she buys GNC 300mg product.  The combo is very low potency, so if you choose that take enough for effectiveness...I even open capsules and add it to my topical combo in a jar, MSM cream, add extra MSM powder, add crushed aspirin, grape seed ex, turmeric, DMSO oil, so much for brushing on my joints....  I've purchased from swansons for years but sold on the Activin now. ________________________________ To: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Sent: Monday, August 6, 2012 12:24 PM Subject: Re: Fw: Was Cataract recipe - a few comments - Grape Seed & OT AARP  Thanks Joyce. been looking into this and saw some amazing reviews at Swanson .. the different combinations are cheap and sometimes more effective than the muscadine seed alone. Guest guest
you know back a few years the grape-fruit-seed extract was the rage. I'm sure the bugs have worked around it and all citrus extracts by now. This one, on the other hand is obviously still effective even with years of use. That in itself is a miracle .. lol. Guest guest
The OPC Pycnogenol came to the U.S. from france in about 1994, I got on it in 1995. It had been in France 40 some yrs prior.  So these OPC's have been in existence a long time....only came to the U.S. less than 20 yrs ago.  I still can't find where Grape Seed Extract FIRST came from....  Again, the main reason I got on Pyc is they told us it may prevent cancer....   First thing to happen for me, allergies and sinus issues were reduced, gone....   These antioxidants also deal with Edema...I know, when I got 2 attacks of Edema, one from a BP med and the other from hip replacement surgery, I dosed up and got rid of the edema.... ________________________________ To: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Sent: Monday, August 6, 2012 12:47 PM Subject: Re: Fw: Was Cataract recipe - a few comments - Grape Seed & OT AARP  you know back a few years the grape-fruit-seed extract was the rage. Guest guest
My wife gets Millet bread from Ingles foods. I think it comes out of Florida. No gluten. I cut my bread consumption from 4 pieces a day to one at breakfast. Whole grain wheat with no sugar added. Lost 6 lbs doing that. Can't go back no matter if I miss it or not. Do not want the pork that goes along with indulgences that I do not need. Am 5'10 " / 167# and I want to stay there.
