Guest guest
I will try to keep as short as possible. I had decompression surgery 9/25/08. Docs did not do anything about the syrinx running down my spine. Symptoms did good for about a month and then I started having problems return. Now I have been diagnosed with PVC's and tachacardia by wearing heart monitor, gastritis, headaches are relentless, and I am still having issues with the fatigue among other issues such as severe tingling and numbness in hands and feet. Before the surgery the docs were contemplating shunt because I have had spinal taps with pressures of 38, 33 before being placed on Diamox and then a pressure of 21 on Diamox 500 mg three times daily. I go to neurologist today. Anyone here have an opinion or personal experience of what to expect. I have heard of others having shunts put in after decompression surgery. How do they decide who needs one? I am so tired of taking medication and the side effects. I am tired of surgery, doctors, pain, etc BUT Today here in NC it has rained all day/stormy and I feel horrible. I know decompression is not a fix but I just thought I would feel better. How can I get results...how do I get to a quality life.....I know we are all asking that question. Why did I improve only to go backwards again? Whatever you have to add or help me get through to my docs please let me know.
