OOOHH! I want your doctor! Just looking at him would make me feel better. Who needs medicine anyway? Seriously, it was nice to hear all the voices that belong to the names that are now so familiar. I too am not on amny meds but albuterol and feel that I keep getting mixed reports. I am back on doctor search. I will be praying that you find a good one too. Rita Eisenstat wrote: Hi All: It was really great to hear all your voices. I look forward to more chats. Ginger: NA is probably naturopath, a natural medicine, or holistic health doctor. I don't think nurse practitioner is used anymore. There's PA: Physician Assistant and a couple

of others that I can't recall right now. Peggy and Sher: Love, just LOVE the funnies! Treatment: My pulmonary doc told me I didn't need any medication when he said my diagnosis was IPF. What I'm understanding is that steroids (or something? ) needs to stop the ongoing scarring? The next visit he said I had mixed disease, both COPD and IPF. Continued scarring is a symptom of COPD, is that right? It doesn't seem right that I don't need medication. My pulmonary doc is exceedingly, I say VERY exceedingly handsome! in a Tony Curtis or Dean sort of way. Very Italian. Sunshine and Flowers, Rita --- IPF 10/05 All-in-one PC Care. (His discription) he says usually goes together. His information states that steroids not very useful after 1st year. percentages go down every year you have pf/ipf. Pulmonary dr not much to look at , BUT you should see orthopedic .WOW. I am only on Albuteral and Spiriva inhaler. Who knows, but just wait, learn make informed decision.I will check out NAC, need to get this "stuff" coughed up. ipf 7/05denise randel wrote: OOOHH! I want your doctor! ,

Ask your doc about a nebulizer. I got one almost right away. I couldn't live without it. I use about four different meds to loosen and help expectorate the mucus. Any time that stuff is in your lungs you are prone to infection. I sometimes just nebulize saline solution (especially for nebulizer). It helps moisten and loosen mucus.

Insurance covers nebulizers the same as oxygen, etc. I have went through three. Really helps!

Hugs,
