Understanding bronchiectasis

Hi,

I'm still trying to understand this disease and would appreciate any input. What does it mean when your mucus is darker yellow on some days (as opposed to lighter yellow)? Also, what does it mean if your mucus is much thicker or stickier on some days (as opposed to thinner on other days)? Much larger than smaller? I'm still trying to understand whether I need to treat when my mucus is thicker, bigger and yellower on certain days(w/o any other symptoms) or whether it's normal to have a lot of variation from day to day and week to week with bronch.
