Avoiding dairy and gluten are probably the best thing if an

allergy/intolerance exists.

There's a group with a lot of helpful info on enzymes - Enzymes and

Autism (http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EnzymesandAutism/).

We like this Kirkman product:

spx

.. We take them mostly when eating a food processed on the same

equipment as wheat/gluten and when eating out (pretty rare). Even

when eating out, we don't make any exceptions for gluten - but the

enzymes help with the possibility of cross-contamination in the

kitchen/food prep areas.

I think Houston Enzymes are also rather highly regarded.
