I joined this group a while ago but went " no mail " for a while

because other things were demanding my attention. Now I want to deal

with what seems to be a mold problem in my house.

I was exposed to a lot of mold at one job about 7 years ago and

became sick, but continued to work, out of loyalty to my boss and

attachment to the good income, for several months. I'm not sure I

completely got over that exposure, but I did improve a lot when I

left.

Now it seems I have some mold inside a kitchen cabinet next to the

sink, and I also smell a faint musty odor coming out of the heat

vents when the fan is running, but not all the time. There was a

small leak under the sink that I got fixed recently.

I have most of the classic symptoms of mold illness, though I often

get good days when the symptoms are much milder--that might be

happening on warm days when I keep the windows open, but I'm not sure

yet. I self-diagnosed myself with Lyme disease, two years ago, but

now I wonder if the real problem has been mold all along. It could

be both! I live in very ticky woods and have camped and hiked most

of my life, and have had many tick bites.

In any case, I need to get out of the house, which will be very

difficult given my tiredness and brain fog, and I need to find a

remediator. I recently bought a used RV, thinking I'd live in the

driveway in the vehicel for a while, but it has cleaning chemicals in

it that make me even sicker, so I have to sell it. So at this point,

I don't have any plans of where to go when I get out.

How do I find a good remediator in my area? (I'm in central NC,

Triangle area.) A local friend had mold in her house and had a

terrible remediator; not sure how she eventually got the house

cleaned up, but she said it was a nightmare.

Is this kind of cleanup usually covered by homeowner's insurance?

If some of you have answered some of my questions a few years ago,

forgive me. I may have lost your posts when my last computer died.

Thanks.
