Guest guest
a H.Springfield, MOFLAG2 of my 3 sons suffered horrible, long-term constipation despite plenty of fruits and vegetables, fiber, lots of exercise, etc.Their pediatrician and other doctors never ONCE mentioned to try eliminating milk from their diet (they drank milk with nearly every meal). I tried every trick in the book and eventually defaulted to Miralax, which provided some relief for them. Eventually, after many hours of reading and researching on my own, I stumbled across a forum that mentioned that lactose intolerance can cause constipation. I switched immediately to almond milk (because the forum also said that some lactose-intolerant children also had problems with soy milk) and it cured their problem within a few days. We have not had a single episode of constipation in the year since we switched to almond milk. I am angry that the doctors never suggested possible lactose intolerance. I have since met many other parents whose children's constipation cleared after eliminating most dairy from their kids' diets.
