Guest guest
Hi, I am a newly diagnosed diabetic, I found out 10 days ago. Back in Sept I began reducing by following the low-carb food plan and swimming an hour a day.....it works. During Sept I asked my dr to run a thyroid test for me and he said while he was at it he would run glucose and cholesterol. In Oct he said he needed to do further blood work that I might be diabetic, 10 days ago he confirmed I am. I began glyburide but read it causes weight gain, doing more research I read glucophage does not, so I asked him for some and he gave it to me. Last night I had terrible runs (NOT the way I want to lose weight) but I also am in ketosis and I had only lost 1 pound in 2 weeks! UGH! NOW~what meds would YOU stop taking? I also started celebrex for my chronic arthritic pain, I had been on 25 200mg ibuprophen a day, now I read celebrex causes diarhhea also. I can't talk to my dr til tomorrow. My blood sugars are low now, last night 45 and this am 91, not even the 126 - 200 they were before I found out, they were probably higher before I began low carbing the dr says. Considering all of this do you think I am in that thing called ketosisacidosis????Or whatever the name is, I am kind of worried. And what is that exactly? Being Thanksgiving the clinic is closed of course. I've lost 23 pounds since Sept and at least I found out about the diabetes before it got much worse, if I hadn't asked for that test or started reducing I would not know today, I am determined to fight this thing and was wondering if people with knowledge would give me their advice? I am having alot of stress about all of this~ Thanks, Jill
