Guest guest
Second study shows WCHS mold levels not high THE STAR PRESS WINCHESTER — A second air-quality report has indicated that roof leaks aside, there is not an elevated level of mold inside Winchester Community High School. Now the Randolph Central School Board plans to meet with a metal retro-fit roof expert on Wednesday to hear recommendations on how the board should proceed. The high school currently has a flat roof, and the board wants to change that to minimize future leaks. Parents expressed concerns during a special meeting Monday night about moisture that remains in the building, whether it's in ceiling tiles or insulation, or along walls in classrooms or behind lockers. Last month taxpayers and students complained after the roof of the high schools' A-wing leaked excessively. The school board on Monday night approved $10,901 in expenditures for repairs that have been made and air studies that have been conducted in recent weeks.
