It is 10 years for us. Six moves in 10 years. One summer I just left and went to Florida because I was so disappointed even though my husband did try to gut a place and make it safe and moved me many times. He also eventually had seizures and had the chemical problem but not as bad as I do. I did return after about three months and it did help us become closer. Of course there are difficult times especially since he is out of work right nfor about six months now. But we have figured out how to work with each other and understand each others difficulties. I have trouble with cooking odors, fragrances, etc. He has trouble with the newspaper and house plants. So he does the cooking most of the time. I read the paper outside or away from him. And I move the plants around like never have them in the bedroom when we sleep. It was very hard for us to understand in the beginning he would turn on the ac when I first started having trouble and I would turn it off saying it hurt my lungs. We both started having trouble with shampoos, etc. at the same time. I try not to talk about this illness much but he understands my need to read this site and others and do my writing, etc. I hope in time some of you that have lost your spouses will get back together again or will eventually meet someone that understands this way of life which takes a love of understanding. Bless you all, and I am always open to discussion. It has been a long ten years.
