Guest guest
Greetings: This is just my humble perspective. I agree with Liz as if he is “pushing back” with your suggestion he might be AS, it might be best to let this issue drop at the moment. Other’s might ask,” what do you base your opinion on that autism is a developmental disability that only affects children? The media? I only ask as I would like to understand this and learn more”. That throws the ball back in his corner to open up the dialog and explain his reasoning without attacking him and I know you are not, but he might perceive you as doing so. On the other hand, he just might say, “you don’t get it!” and that is because we all perceive our environment differently. Give him time. Maybe some articles and titles of books written by those with “AS’ diagnosed late in life might shed some light or maybe not. There are many roads to the mountain, and we all seem to choose our own path and get there at our own time. His time table might not be yours and maybe some private counseling might be beneficial in helping you sort out these issue? Just a thought and best to you. Others?
