Guest guest
Progressive Neonatal Intensive Care Units across our nation often prescribe banked human breast milk for a myriad of problems. Artificial milk of any kind is poorly digested in the early months and for that matter, it is far from considered the perfect food for a baby. Constipation issues are prevalent in formula fed babies. Gastrointestinal emptying takes much longer than human milk which is species specific and considered to be of perfect design. I am only stating the facts and sharing alternatives to a challenging situation. There are plenty of pediatricians who will write a prescription for human breast milk. The 'designer milk' for Hollywood's adoptive parents has become quite popular as it is considered the safest nutrition available... My understanding is breastmilk comes from a vat of three donors only and it used to be about $2.50 an ounce for the processing, probably much more now. Quantities available and special needs of an infant help prioritization for milk banks. I think there were around eight milk banks in North America a few years ago. Breastfed babies rarely have constipation problems and human milk is touted as the cure for many gastrointestinal challenges. The Journal of Human Lactation printed a short anecdotal article years ago about a woman who was literally cured of her Chrohn's disease after drinking one 8 ounce glass of her friend's pumped milk mixed with Hershey's syrup. A surgeon in Kansas City had his patients deficient in IgA drink banked human milk once a day for a few days before liver transplants with astounding results. He also perfused human milk in the peritoneal cavity during the transplant operation. Cutting edge research is revealing that because human milk is living it has miraculous properties that are healing, but researchers observe something similar to cells actually 'morphing' and addressing needs in the body as the milk passes through, healing all it comes in contact with. The information is out there if you care to look.
