Guest guest
When two people read a great piece of literature, they can come away with diverging " takes " on what was read. That being said, I read that letter with a different perspective. When I read that skin 'breaks' were 'reportable' or 'non-reportable' according to whether 'stitches' were given or say, a 'butterfly' bandage, it made me wonder as to whether, and if, the 'bandaid' policy is in effect. For two reasons, 1) the 'reportability' issue and 2) the 'compensation' issue. When they take out the novocaine and the needle and thread, and " bill-out " is there internal hospital or health care facility " review " against the doc? Do they do the Friday " round robin " of cases where the doc is chastised for doing " stitches " v. the " butterfly/bandaid " approach? Is there a " world " that patients/workers are not aware of? " Scarring " is generally a 'compensated by insurance' event. Is the fact that there " appears " to be an 'admission' from the 'inside' of the non-degree conferring 'college' / a peek inside the 'group' that might reveal a certain 'division' among the 'ranks?' Have legislative moves like the one reported in the Boston Herald, this weekend, in Massachusetts, which prohibits 'gifts, junkets, for docs, exerting pressure upon the entire medical (doc) side of the table? The new law, which stops short of criminal penalties for its violation, takes a look at the industry ( the whole, including drug companies.) I personally feel that there should be a penalty. The law puts the industry on notice. There are 49 other states that need to do the same. Undue " influence " is a plague upon this " learned " profession. Have they made a ton of money? Without question. This letter indicates a " standard of care " issue. But, my query is whether the " Berlin wall " crumbling from within, or without? Is this letter any indicator that 'change is in the wind?' I am not looking at " mold " right now, I am looking, as an injured, worker, union member, whether traumatic injury or environmental exposure, having been through the " process " at the " process, " itself. At testimony, Mulvey always said, " I wish I had broken my leg. " Because the evidence is irrefutable via an x-ray. The x-ray is the standard of care for a traumatic injury. The evidence would be " irrefutable " for exposure/mold cases if the standard of care was uniform throughout. It is not. Is there a " crise de conscience " within the ranks? To " me, " it looks like Pandora's box is open. > > > In a message dated 4/20/2008 7:41:44 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time, > ginloi@... writes: > > Is this the white flag? > > > NO. Guest guest
" voluntary self-regulation " says it all. p. 405. " self-policing " does not work. Emerich Dahlberg Acton {Lord Acton} said, " Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. " That is why we have checks and balances in our American democracy, so that too much power is not vested in one branch of authority. It is a very big picture. Who was minding the store when " undue influence " became the order of the day? > > I think the situation is of one getting caught with their fingers in the > cookie jar and then trying to blame it on their mother for making the cookies > that tempted them. > > READ THE FOLLOWING TO UNDERSTAND JUST HOW LONG THESE GUYS HAVE BEEN THE > MEDICAL WHORES OF INDUSTRY. > > International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health, October 2007 > > American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM): A > Professional Association in Service to Industry > JOSEPH LADOU, MD, DANIEL T. Guest guest
I am (for lack of a better word) just sickened by all of this. As far as I am concerned, the article just backs up the title of the document you reference below Sharon: ACOEM, A Professional Society in Service to Industry " They basically admitted it in the article. Independent Medical Examiners: yea, right...and pigs fly. What happened to " First do no harm? " Who are we supposed to trust? I have been sick with mold related illnesses for TWENTY YEARS this September and have been working on trying to do something about it when I found out in 2000 that mold was what was making me sick. I lost count of the numbers of times I went to the doctors with various strange and repetitive illnesses yet no one could figure out why I was always sick. Diagnosis deferred, diagnosis deferred, we don't know, we don't know. How dare they do this to me and to you all. They took a good part of my life away from me.......for MONEY.....for their own self interests. When we get the letter together for you all to send to your congress member, do not even hesitate to send it. If we don't take care of ourselves and protect our health and futures, you can clearly see now that no one else is going to do it for you. There is such strength in numbers, especially when we are on the side of the angels. Once we get money and special interest out of mold illnesses, they can't hide behind false medicine anymore and be allowed to get away with harming you, your families, children in schools and your co- workers. Mulvey son I think the situation is of one getting caught with their fingers in the cookie jar and then trying to blame it on their mother for making the cookies that tempted them.
