Is this safe to use everyday?

Is is it safe to take Magnesium hydroxide daily? I fnally found something my daughter doesn't fight me to take. She loves Pedia Lax Chewable tablets in the watermelon flavor. But can she take this everyday...is it safe? Will she become dependent? I'm pretty sure it is the same as MOM but I thought I would run it across the board. Thanks L.

I agree – with what’s happening right now with our ds, I would

not use one certain thing everyday. I would definitely mix it up.

My personal opinion is no! I think we should

try to use any of these

things at a bare limit(dependency/need more with time)and try to

alternate supplements used! Although our gastro recently told us that

befor peg that hydroxide(yes this is MOM) was the frequent script for

daily use(he said we can use 1 tablespoon a day)so most likely couldnt

do to much harm). But even with doc ok, I would try every other day or

as needed if she doesnt get blockages. Could you tell me the dosage of

the hydroxide? Hydroxide is also a acid calmer and using daily could

posssibly interfer with nutrient absorbtion(but better than the

prevacids etc(they block acid production). But in saying all the

caution overall magnesium in general is pretty safe and the body

requires it(excretes what is not needed, this is the looser stools)(do

not use if kidney issues exsist)!! I too go through this with the thing

that works for my son(Aloe vera juice)and trying to limit it! It is

considered more as a juice/loaded with nutrients etc and so I feel ok

with the use but still leary of needing more and more(so I try to

alternate other items that work). Jennie<><

the quick disolving strips contain polyethylene oxide................I wouldn't recommend those................the chewables contain Aluminum Lake
