I've read that many have had very good results. I've been pretty miserable this week (better today, the mold count is down) so I'm going to order some. The URL to the item is very long, so I won't include it. Just go to viatminshop.com, >Home >Shop By Brand >N >Nutribiotic >Sinus Support It's $5.56 a bottle. Guest guest
I find with my car the air conditoning smells musty when I first start it also as I don't use it a lot, only on really muggy, hot days. What I do is start it from the house and let it run a bit and by the time I get in the van there is no smell. Whether it is mold or not, I don't know. I have tried the warm-up, but this isn't good enough in my particular car in this particular climate. I was hoping someone would have some suggestions for a natural, safe fungicide. I don't know if such a thing exists. I've noticed the car is worse when the outside mold count is worse, so I think it's bringing in mold from the environment, then letting it grow in the AC. Yuck. Thanks for your thoughts. Jean

I've not tried this, but I wonder since the grapefruit seed extract comes with directions for using it as a disinfectant, whether you could not mix it up into a solution, put it in a spray bottle, and spray it into the air intake for the car air system while the fan is running. Might be worth a try. Or perhaps you could rig up some kind of filter that would fit into the ducts, and spray it on that, so air is drawn through it. If the car has an air recirculation feature, as most that have a/c do, you might be able to try this without having to get under the hood. Better get a manual for the car (most libraries have these) and take a look at the system configuration, or consult a mechanic first. I know what you mean about the musty moldy smell. I used to have a car that had that smell when the fan was turned on. I have not specifically heard of mold proliferation in car air ducts, but I have heard that pollen and dust could build up in them, causing problems for allergy and asthma sufferers, so it sounds logical that mold could do the same. You might also want to get a good shop vaccuum and clean the ducts out as well as possible first. Liz G.

I am about to order the Nutribiotic nasal spray, do I need to order one of the larger bottles of the liquid for the disinfectant? I've never ordered any before, and I couldn't find anything on the vitaminshop.com web site to indicate what the larger bottles were used for. Where did you find the directions for the disinfectant? Thanks, Jean
Guest guest
The nasal spray is different from the GSE drops, in that it is already diluted, and has ascorbic acid added. When I got the drops (which are 67% glycerin and 33% Citricidal--their trademark name for the seed extract) it came with a little flyer that described the different uses. The formula for the cleaner is 30-60 drops in a 32 ounce spray bottle of water or cleanser. There is a website with more info at www.nutriteam.com see under " More Practical Uses " for info for using it in the household. And I want to thank you for bringing this topic up. We have a mold problem in our house, and I have never thought of trying the GSE for it. Funny how sometimes, when a problem is right in front of your nose, you can't see any solutions, but when you look at it from another's point of view, ideas come. Thank heavens for groups like this, where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts! I'm going to try it on the surface mold in one room, and I'll let you all know the results. Take care, Liz G. Guest guest
We had the same problem with out window unit this year. My husband and I both sprayed disinfected inside the vent it still took a few days before it did not smell so badly and I had some major headaches but had to have the cool air also. it did finally work though one day when we did not need to have it on I sprayed it really good and then it was off for a couple of days when we turned it back on the smell was gone. I would suggest that whatever you spray into the vents that you do not have it running at the time so that it does not come back onto you, we learned that one the hard way. Also gets something that does not have an oder that you can not tolerant because you will be smelling that for a little while. Also when you spray it do it in the evening when you know you will not be using your car for a few hours. You might have to do this a couple of times we did. You also needed something that will get rid of the mold not just cover up the smell. Hope you can get it taken care of soon!! Peace, SherryHi folks,I know lots of you are allergic to mold, as I am, and consider this acomplicating factor in your rheumatic conditions.I have recently realized my car's air conditioning acquires a moldy smellfrom time to time, and these times my nasal congestion and sinus pain getworse.I have heard you can get rid of the mold with a disinfectant, but don't wantto get myself to a situation where I'm breathing in a substance which may beworse than the mold. Any suggestions for getting rid of mold in car airconditioning? Thanks.JeanTo unsubscribe, email: rheumatic-unsubscribeegroups
Guest guest
Barb, Are you referring to the coronacleanair site? or sue's schoolmoldhelp? I can't get all the testimonies without signing into hers, and I don't see any at the first site. I am almost done with a poster board, trying to assemblesome stories and some photos. If you have a few lines to add, great. I am before a seven county wide group of librarians in southeastern ny. I hope i dont totally collapse and can get thro my power point. IF not, my poster board will be like bringing you all with me. angela
