Guest guest
Tom, the test is glycated hemoglobin referred to as HbA1c. It measures the amount of glucose stuck to blood cells. Some labs use different means, so it is well to know the normal range for your lab. Generally damage is slow under a 7%, good at 6%, great at 5%. I've had a 5.3 and lately a 6.0 . The 90 days is a typical half life of a blood cell. Sam in San Diego I'm on all day on a highspeed net, and I have written to diabetics for 3 years. Guest guest
Hi Group: As long as things are quiet, I have a brief note. I will send a longer one by next weekend after I see my CDE. I went to see my hypertension specialist, a PharmD, and she let slip that my HbA1c was 5.1. I will be receiving a copy of the printout of all of my tests on my visit next week to the CDE. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Erwin
Guest guest
Erwin, you have indeed been good. My lowest test was 5.3. Recently it was 6. Right now I'm attempting to lose weight as well as control my sugar. My wife and I are splitting TV dinners, it suits both of us. I'm speaking to you and my computer is typing it. I'm practicing with naturally speaking voice to text program. Regards, Sam
