Guest guest
Dear Rhonda, It's great that Klonopin seems to be working for your dear father. My mom was put on it for wandering too, back when she still walked. And it is prescribed by some of the leading LBD doctors for RBD. My mom's doc back then did not tell me about the potential for problems with these tranquilizers in the elderly. Benzodiazepines can produce what's called a pradoxical reaction - they begin to cause the very problems they're prescribed for. It does seem some folks with LBD can take this family of meds, but many cannot. I found the articles about this family of meds at our link for medications to be very helpful in understanding what we were going through. You're right, this group is great! He has been taking it for about 5 weeks now and has only had 3 nights of wandering! I am so grateful to this group for all the wonderful information I have received! Thank you all!
