Guest guest
Has your son been tested for dyslexia? If he is struggling with reading and is of average of above average intelligence it is likely that he has dyslexia, and he should be treated for it so that he does not have to struggle as much. There are lots of programs that can read textbooks to someone and I can find out the name of the company that does that if you would like but dealing with the dyslexia would still be important. You can email me privately if you would like. Judi

Jennie Jennie - My daughter-in-law (blind - Retinitis pigmentosa) is both a certified special-ed teacher and runs a tiny company specializing in access technologies. I asked what she might recommend. This is her response, in part: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- " Anyone who has a disability which affects their ability to read print is eligible for their State's Talking Book Program, sometimes called the Library for the Blind. Once they have applied, they have access to a digital tape player and tapes sent to them free of charge on a regular basis or upon request. They can also access books electronically and download them. " I would also suggest looking at, " WYNN Scan and Read Literacy Software " from freedomscientific.com. This provides both visual and auditory feedback. " -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I looked at WYNN <http://www.freedomscientific.com/lsg/products/wynn.asp> One of their products appears to provide exactly what you want. Pricey, but...
