Hotel Guests Upset About Toxic Mold

Toxic mold is what one hotel guest says she encountered during her

stay at the La Kiva hotel in amarillo. Billeci is in

Amarillo with her sisters taking care of their terminally ill

father.

She says they booked a room at the La Kiva to take a break from the

stress and allow their little sisters some time to get their minds

off their ailing father.

As an attorney specializing in poisonous mold cases, knew

exactly what she was looking at when she saw the ceiling of the

shower. She says, " that's not just mildew or surface mold. It's

toxic mold with spores hanging down. "

says that kind of mold won't just make someone sick, it

could be deadly. With one of her sisters having an auto-immune

disease, says she wanted to get her and the rest of the

group out of the hotel....but not before talking to management.

Michell says, " they didn't seem to care about that. She could get

really sick from this stuff but they said no one else has complained

and they weren't going to refund the hotel room. "

Eventually the hotel partially refunded their room.

La Kiva hotel sales manager Bennie says it is hotel policy to

always work with customers if they have complaints. He also says the

hotel changed owners back in January and are in the middle of

thoroughly checking every room for problems.
