Guest guest
This statement: " Mold and Sinusitis. There´s no clear-cut evidence that sensitivity to mold causes chronic sinusitis, nor are there conclusive data to show that mold-killing antifungal drugs such as amphotericin, applied to the nasal passages, are an effective treatment for sinusitis. " Didn't the Mayo Clinic come out with a report that showed most sinusitis to be fungal? Maybe we should send a copy to s Hopkins. " Mold and Infection. Superficial fungal infections, such as toenail fungus or jock itch, generally result from fungi that develop inside the warm, moist environments found in shoes or tight garments. Thrush can develop inside the mouths of people with weakened immune systems, such as those who have AIDS or cancer. These infections generally are not the result of exposure to mold in the home or workplace. " This statement about thrush is unreal. Many babies get thrush. Just more ignorance and arrogance. I think I need to go scream. Jean
Guest guest
" Didn't the Mayo Clinic come out with a report that showed most sinusitis to be fungal? " So why do you Mayo Clinic is being so inconsistent about this? llaci
Guest guest
(Wish I could type). I'll try again. Why do you think Mayo Clinic is being inconsistent about fungus/mold and chronic sinusitis? llaci
Guest guest
> Why do you think Mayo Clinic is being inconsistent about fungus/mold > and chronic sinusitis? I went to a traditional allergist who told me that the Mayo Clinic's report was proven false. I said show me the research...never happened. I told him that Nizoral antifungal spray for three years healed my chronic infectious sinusitus. So the proof is in the pudding for me! >
Guest guest
They all know so little about fungal sinusitis. It doesn't surprise me even though it's the Mayo. " So the proof is in the pudding for me! " Yes and I researched it myself when I knew I'd breathed in mold spores and thought I was going to die. And it fit perfectly that I'd inhaled these mold spores from opening boxes in my attic (which I knew contained toxic mold). But it took a few doctors before they would okay my trying Diflucan. After two weeks, I was all better. llaci
Guest guest
when I went to the mayo clinic the first thing they said is " we cant diagnose toxic mold illness and we wint get dragged to court over it " than they said " but we think you should have all the testing done to check for cancers " now it's strange that they had me me contain any mucus they could get yet I never seem any testing results from what they took from my sinuses or lungs. and it now seems to me that they very obviuoely avoided any testing that may have detected molds. oh, they diagnosed asthma and chronic sinusitis/rhinosinusitis but in the report they simply wrote that while some of the things they found could be caused by mold exposure they didn't think they all could be. funny because everthing they found was exactly what what was listed on a list of illnesses caused by toxic mold exposure from mold-surviver.org. everything except the last one, death. Guest guest
So they'd be ready to treat you if it was cancer but not toxic mold inhalation? They wouldn't even try an anti-fungal medication I suppose? So what help are they then? Just more " sheep " in my book. llaci
Guest guest
I, too, am a MAYO victim. Spent $14,000.00 on test and still don't know what many of them are. I tried to show them photos of my house and the mold. The allergist I saw was horrible, just horrible. He seems to think that cigarette smoking is the root of all evil. EVERYTHING in his opinion is caused by cigarette smoke. Then he proceeded to call me a nose picker. My sinuses are inflammed, but he refused to think of anything except smoke. I smelled mold in their building in ville, the second floor REEKS of it. They, as most other facilities, have no idea what to do with you. They just want your money and herd you out. It's political. Other research funds will get yanked if they dig into the mold issue. The government (and their main llobbyists, insurance companies), does NOT want the severity of mold sickness to get out, period. That is why we are all going through this. It's an insult to all citizens of America and a display on who really controls this country. I would like to vomit in all their faces. > > > (Wish I could type). Guest guest
do you know that you can make a formal complaint with them? > > > > > > (Wish I could type). Guest guest
well, if you want to pay them for poor service it's up to you. get my drift? rodchester is where I went. of corse that was in 2003 so maybe somethings changed. beware their building is sick or was sick when I was there. did you go there for toxic mold illness, did they address that? did they reciew any medical ecidence you had related to that? was condictions they found, linable to toxoc mold illness? maybe send records that they didn't review that pertains to your exposure and a few good articles on symptoms and illnesses cause by exposure. worth a try. if you set up the visit thinking you were going to get diagnoses and treatment for mold exposure and you got the assembly line look for cancer protocall instead, I'd complain about it. if their not going to address what you went there for and they set up the appointment knowing full well that they weren't going to address it than I'd be nakeing a complaint.
