Guest guest
KC: Damn, and I just took the " long-winded " path to point out virtually the same thing! Hope all is well, God Bless and thank you for all you and Sharon do. Your good friend. Doug Haney @...: tigerpaw2c@...: Sat, 31 May 2008 04:38:49 +0000Subject: [] Re: s Hopkins U, Mold Myths, " Health Alert " aka Litigation Defense Propaganda In all seriousness I think we need a study concerning the health effects, the loss of life inflicted by the stupidity of these " so-called " experts. The stats I'm sure would be astronomical. I guess some have a lower price (ethically that is)than others on selling their soul to the highest bidder
Guest guest
Doug, KC and Sharon - I had the same visceral response. They are trying to 'marginalize out' one section of medicine. I wonder what would happen if they attempted that trick in " vanity " medicine. Lamisil is approved for toenail fungus for the big ticket Jimmy Choo shoes, but not for aspergillosis. No one is paying $500 to put 'strappy sandals' on their feet with fungal crud all over them. And yet, for " vanity " practitioners drugs just slide right on through the FDA process. Think of all those who may have to pony up; The shoe business, the hosiery business, the lotion/cream/makeup industry are vested in " vanity " medicine. The reason people have to wait 3 months or better to see a dermatologist is that the 'derm' people are into botox - a toxin not universally approved. Are they going to recognize toxins if they are used in business? It would be interesting if, the Med school/ hospital got funding from the big makeup, botox, lotion magnates, or subsidiaries, to keep using toxics in the fashion industry while hold back approval for legitimate, insurance covered medical use. By using immuno assays for reactivity, for diagnosis, and treatment of legitimately sick people, they will croak the usage in the fashion industry. The answer might be right on all of our makeup counters.
Guest guest
That article ticked me off, so I wrote them. It is sad that a major medical association would put out this kind of information that will only hurt the sick that look for help. I have worked for ten years trying to educate the gov't, press, etc. about how mold can make a perfectly healthy person sick. Most of the people I have met through the ten years were very healthy before they had indoor mold cause major illness. And the so called multiple chemical sensitivity is a very real problem. There are different names reactive airways disease, irritant induced asthma, etc. and there is literature all over at children's hospitals, etc. about irritants that cause asthma, etc. I can't begin to tell you the suffering I have endured, and I am only trying to protect others from living this terrible life style. It is very painful to live with fragrance, detergents, soaps, cleaning products etc. that are made with chemicals that haven't even been tested for safety. The EU Government has already started making their products safer and eliminated chemicals that are not safe. Unfortunately many people that get ill from indoor mold get these chemical sensitivities. Something happens to the body where we can no longer tolerate these chemicals. I was fine with them for forty years and then my body was weakened. Just like pregnant woman get sick when near these chemicals, cooking odors, gasoline, but no one doubts when they get sick from these irritants. I wonder if these people that did this study have some conflict of interest to down play this serious illness. I am sure someone will check out that information. Everyday I read of people all over the world that are suffering either in schools, police stations, court houses, fire stations, apartments, homes, the list goes on and on where they are trying to get someone to help them with this mold that seems to be a myth to Hopkins. I will never go to this Hospital with their lack of knowledge, and I am sure that others will do the same. There is so much suffering going on in this world with floods, hurricanes, homes, offices with roof leaks, pipe damage, toilet leaks, etc. that it would be nice if the people could get the proper information instead of having to scavenger around trying to figure out what information is correct. I wouldn't want to be the organization that gives out the wrong information only to cause more undue suffering. I thought Hopkins had the most up to date knowledge, but I guess not. Seems like they would be interested in learning more from the sick people instead of hurting them more. We rely on hospitals, etc. to know what to do when we are sick. --- In
Guest guest
I hope when you wrote them you " copied " Cong. Conyers office and any legislator, local, state or federal, who is connected to health related issues, the press, any groups (like this one) whose focus is to educate people and " credentialize " the mission.© I bet it was a great letter, as was your well-written post! " Many hands make " light " work, " my uncle used to tell us, when we were involved in a big project. It is important to " research " where the funding came for the research. It can be filed under " checkbook " science or medicine. A wise friend once told me " He who has the gold, rules. " " Vanity " Medicine © - is driving a big " choo-choo " these days - they got Lamisil approved for toenail fungus, to wear those " strappy sandals " - after all, who is going to wear $800.00 shoes with fungal crud on their feet? People who have that kind of dough, celebrities, etc., are not going to be seen in public with gross toenails! It would be in all those tabloids! But Lamisil, is not set up for patients who need systemic treatment, as in Europe, where, in one study I read in 2000, showed that it was " efficacious against aspergillus " in AIDS patients, bone marrow transplantees, and others, where the fungal infection aspergillosis would have killed them, and left them generally without liver and kidney damage, which others " approved " for systemic mycoses, are reputed to cause organ damage. {I am not a doctor, but I can read reports.} That is the difference, one drug, good for the fancy shoes " look, " but not to wipe out an organism that is making you sick and doing a job on your immune system. There is one HUGE source of power. I hope that people are starting to contact their officials about this problem. Just posting on this board, ain't gonna get you there! 2008© > > That article ticked me off, so I wrote them. > > It is sad that a major medical association would put out this kind of > information that will only hurt the sick that look for help. > > I have worked for ten years trying to educate the gov't, press, etc. > about how mold can make a perfectly healthy person sick. Guest guest
Anybody think of sending them what the World Health Organization had to say? How do they sleep at night? a
Guest guest
So, let me see if I understand this correctly. If, let's say, Mayo Clinic even suspects it's a mold issue and knows they can treat it with antifungal meds, they won't. Mainly because-- if the antifungal medication works-- it proves it was a mold issue-- hence potential lawsuits? llaci
