DO I HAVE THE STRENGTH TO KEEP FIGHTING ON......?

I spoke to my lawyer today about my disability case which I was told

that because my last lawyers did not prepare my case well it would be

better off not to appeal my case in Federal court because the judges

decision would stand and if I get a unfavorable ruling in Federal

court it would be much harder to go back and try to overturn the

hearing judge's decision.

So now I have to start the process from scratch by filing a new

disability/ssi case and once I get another denial my new lawyer would

be able to prepare my case at the federal level the right way and

introduce more evidence to support my case. Plus, they may be able

to " back door " my previous disability case so I may still be able to

collect that money, if I should win.

It's already been a five year process and I am sitting here wondering

if I have the strength and stamina to keep up this fight? I'm living

off of nothing, I'm unable to work so I'm still living in the toxic

moldy apartment and the longer you stay the sicker you get.

My daughter has been staying with my mom for the past year and is

ready to come home but at the same time she knows that the apartment

is toxic. And I have not had the support from anyone except for the

people on this group. My mother still won't accept that this

apartment is toxic and not safe to inhabit for any one's sake or that

I'm even sick! I want to get my daughter out of her home but I have

no other place for us to go.

I just don't know what to do? I'm still trying to get a referral from

my insurance primary doctor to go to an Infectious Disease doctor. I

had made an appointment with county USC but my insurance won't cover

those doctors and it's $325 just for a consultation so I don't have

the money to go.

This whole thing has been a nightmare! And I know I won't survive

here in this place another four or five years waiting on a

disability/ssi case just to have enough money to get out of here or to

get more tests and treatments done.

We are all expendable..... simply because we are not worth anything!

MONEY TALKS! WE ARE NOT RICH - it's as simple as that! If we had

millions of dollars then this fight would not be a fight. If we were

Oprah or Trump then people would listen but because we are peons in

the world we're just CRAZY and have " somatization " disorders.

THE SYSTEM LIES, CHEATS, STEALS from those who need it the most. IT

TAKES FROM THE POOR AND GIVES TO THE RICH!

Jaded and venting. Thanks for listening!

Bless you Dana, I haven't even bothered to get SSI, it is a terrible

system. Try to hang in there, I know exactly how you feel. ---

Dana,

You are not alone. There are many of us struggling with similar issues. I don't

say this as a way of lessening the awful turmoil of all you are going through--

but rather to let you know that others of us know what you are dealing with and

I so wish, pray that a healthy resolution is out there for you and your

daughter. I just don't understand how parents and loved ones can often be the

worst offenders. I guess if we had broken legs-- something that they could see,

maybe they would accept that. I wish much better for you and everyone else.

Is there any possibility that a local state representative, congressperson or

senator could help. I know someone who contacted their senator and while it

wasn't a factor in deciding her case, it did help expidite things.

Regards,

Sam
