Donna,

I had a VP shunt placed in September of last year. In March of this year, I had

a shunt revision to replace the tube that goes from the valve to the ventricle,

as it was partially plugged. At the same time, they replaced the valve with a

new programmable valve that allows them to adjust the pressure without surgery.

It is magnetic, and takes about 5 minutes to change my pressure.

My nsg told me before he put mine in that he has patients that have no trouble

with them at all, and he has other patients that have nothing but trouble.

M.
