Welcome,

I too am a fairly new addition to the group. I rarely post but read at least

a hundred inspirational emails daily. These are the best bunch of women to

turn to in your difficult time. I can identify with you very much. I too had

a Tubal Ligation at 22yrs old. I have two children age 11 and 10. I have a

husband now and we would like to add more children to our family. I have made

the decision to have a TR/ and have chosen Dr. Levin to do the surgery in

January. Thanks for listening-Colleen

I chose Dr. Levin initially because of the great price deal. I furthered my

decision based upon our initial interview..He was very caring and totally

interested in helping my family. Here in Chicago the price range is around

10k for the surgery not including any after care. The docs here it seemed

felt like they were doing me a favor and I felt looked down upon.

Dr. Levin never made me feel this way.

New to group

Hi. My name is Elling and I am new to this group. I am 28

years old and have two children ages 8, and 10. I have been

contemplating having a TR for a long time now. I had my TL when I was

only 21 and my doctor allowed me to do it with no questions asked. I

have regretted that decision ever since. But when you are 21 you

think that you know it all. I am looking forward to being a part of

this group and hearing about other women's experiences.

Congratulations Kim! Sounds like we are in the same boat. My

boyfriend of 2 years doesn't have any children either. I want so

badly to be able to give him that gift. After finding this site, I

finally feel like there is hope. Thank you!

Colleen, Thank you for sharing. If you don't mind my asking, what

inspired you to choose doctor Levine? That is my biggest struggle

right now.

I have gotten that feeling from a couple of doctors that I have seen

here in Minnesota too. That is why I have started looking elsewhere.

So you are getting your TR in January?

I don't have a doctor picked out yet. I have heard good things both

about Dr. Berger and about Dr. Levin.

Welcome to the group! You will find some wonderful ladies here. I know what

you mean about having your tubes tied at 21, no ???'s asked. Boy was I stupid

and so was the doc!

Well, I have to admit that I was 23 before I had my tubes tied. My doctor

didn't try to talk me out of it but he did do me a huge favor when he did

the ligation. He used the falope rings. I was thinking of a ligation after

my second child and the doctor I was seeing with her refused to do it. He

told me that I was too young and that he knew of a woman who had her tubes

tied and then her whole family, (husband and 3 children were killed in a car

accident). He absolutely refused to do the surgery. I about fell over. I

wish more doctors were like him. Then perhaps not so many of us would be in

the situation we are now. But then Dr. Levin wouldn't have a job. So there

are drawbacks. Just wanted to add my two cents in here.

love ya'll.

Good Luck in choosing your doc for your TR. There is

a lot of good docs out there. Just do your research.

I used Dr Levin and glad I did, he's a great doc. The

women here have used several different docs so you'll

get lots of in put on them all. Many have had success

too. Welcome to the group, Donna

Kim Congrats on being PG! And welcome to the group.

That will help to encourage some of the women here

with 1 tube. They say it only takes 1 tube and you

are proof of that! :-) 20 weeks you don't have much

further to go. Give us your info and we'll add you to

the baby shower we are doing for the other PG ladies

in the group. I also had my TL at age 21 but my doc

did try to talk me out of it. I was just too stubborn

to listen. Now I'm 34 been with my DH for 12 years

and he's helped raise my 3 kids (ages 14,15,16). I

had my TR 8-20-01 and TTC. He has no children (other

than these 3) and we want 1 together very badly.

Hi Lynn,

Thanks for your prayers. Right now there is so much

going on that I can Hardly keep my head screwed on

straight.

The VA as a whole is bar none, but even here in WNY,

vets would kill to be sent there for what ever ails

them.

Hi Jan,

I too have been through lots in order to make sure

that the diagnoses is correct... keep wishing that

they're wrong, but nope!

I do believe that everything is starting to kick in.

PT is just starting to pay off. I want things to go

faster, but patience was never my strong suit. LOL.

Dear Jo,

Welcome to the group!

When and if your friend is diagnosed with MS and is open to information

about alternative treatments, please share with her the following

information.

By the grace of God, I put my MS symptoms into remission using an

alternative treatment recommended by Edgar Cayce, a man many regard as

the father of modern holistic medicine. Unfortunately, due to the

complex, multifaceted nature of MS, Cayce's treatment does not work for

everyone. The same goes for every other current approach (alternative or

mainstream) to overcoming MS. What works for one person does not

necessarily work for another. People with with MS need to find--usually

by trial and error--what is effective for them and then stick to it

religiously.

Many MS patients have obtained varying degrees of symptomatic relief

with diet, food supplements, exercise, detoxification, and a low stress

lifestyle.

There are many other strategies, however, that have also benefited

MSers, including LDN, glyconutrients, and colloidal silver.

For more information about these and other promising alternative

approaches to treating MS, visit

Hi Jo,

Your friend is very lucky to have you care so much. If you had read

some previous posts, even family memebers can totally shun you when

you get sick. I did the denial thing when I was ill and it was my way

of saying " no, this is not going to happen to me " . Has she seen a

chiropractor??? Has she been in any accidents or falls in her past???

She could have some pinched nerves in her back and neck. I would have

her start there and perhaps its just something simple like that. Then

you need to start sharing with her some of the results people are

getting here with nutrition and other alternatives. If she knows there

is hope and other options then she won't be so afraid.
