Guest guest
Mold Takes Over Home KMID Midland Reported by: Stefanie Jay Thursday, Jun 19, 2008 http://permianbasin360.com/content/fulltext/?cid=6301 Three month old cries out as a trail of cords drape around his little body. His mother Sonii says the mold has affected him the worst. " It can be a problem especially for infants, elderly, anyone who is immunocompromised. The family, immunocompromised, " she explains. This toxic mold is known to cause vomiting, allergies, and a whole string of health problems, many of which this family of five has suffered from. Just walking in the door you feel suffocated by the moisture and bacteria in the room, hurting little the most. His father says, " If one other family member gets sick, has to be in here so he can be in a safe, clean room. You literally have to quarantine him? Yes, so he doesn't get sick from anyone else. " Desperate, the family brought in the experts to find out what could be causing this. " What we look for, having abnormal types of mold, having abnormal levels of mold. Would you say the case meets that criteria? It is abnormal in every circumstance. " says, " The frustration comes because I don't know how to take care of the problem. I need assistance to take care of the problem for my son's health. " The only way is to spend thousands ripping out the flooring and walls to make the air safe to breathe again. Because right now, for this family, it's really not home sweet home.
