Guest guest
Know that standard carpet off-gasses literally --hundreds-- of noxious chemicals, including formaldehyde, for anywhere from 3 to 7 years. Those disgusting chemicals rise up and out of the carpet, into the air that all living beings in the home breathe (people, pets, plants). New carpet in her classroom is what started my then 5 year-old child on a horrific downward spiral health-wise, to the point that she cannot go to school, relatives' homes, stores, most public places because of the overwhelming chemical stress they place on her body. If anyone's health is already in jeopardy because of mold injury, please do not add to the body's burden by putting in carpet!
Guest guest
Exactly my point! The carpet installed in my child's classroom made 4 of 15 kids ill (the school to this day continues to deny any problem). It is noxious stuff and the industry behind it, in my opinion, is nothing short of evil. In a message dated 6/12/2008 11:31:22 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, jjaksic@... writes: Little story. Our wall to wall carpeting needed a little patchwork. It's only about three years old. So I went back to the store I purchased it from and asked for a small piece (bringing a tiny piece with me). We went out to the warehouse and found the carpeting. She cut off about one foot for me which I thought was nice. (Now, this is the carpeting that barely had any smell even after it was laid.) I couldn't even stand smelling the toxins while it was in the back seat. I stopped at a garbage bin and tossed it. My heart was racing and I was getting hot and confused. llaci **************Vote for your city's best dining and nightlife. City's Best 2008. Guest guest
The same school that injured my child with carpet also had water literally dripping out of ceiling tiles in another classroom. Five children in that class had migraine-like symptoms, most likely from the mold colony growing there, yet the school again did nothing about it! And this was a Quaker school, at that!
