Guest guest
I'm SICK to my stomach. & nbsp; There is a Dr. in Pocomoke, MD that specializes in treating people w/mold exposure. & nbsp; Any one use him? & nbsp; Or better question, any live near him? & nbsp; And I'm SICK to my stomack....this is the report that came back from our house regarding the type of mold we have. & nbsp; " It's not a health concern " & nbsp; DO YOU HEAR ME. & nbsp; I " M SICK AS A DOG???? & nbsp; In tears, Shonda see attached and below & nbsp; Shonda, & nbsp; Attached are the results of the mold sampling that I performed. & nbsp; There appears to be no areas of concern that should cause health issues. & nbsp; However, there are things you can do to improve your air quality. & nbsp; 1. & nbsp; Keep your AC set at 68 to 74 in the winter and 73-79 in the summer. & nbsp; Never turn your AC off for any lengths of time. & nbsp; It might help with your utility bill but it does not help with your indoor air quality. & nbsp; By keeping your AC on it reduces the humidity which mold needs to grow. & nbsp; 2. & nbsp; Use a vacuum that has a HEPA filter and has a bag for the dirt and dust. & nbsp; Ensure the filters are changed frequently, depending on how often you vacuum. & nbsp; 3. & nbsp; Do a one time thorough house cleaning. & nbsp; Remove clothes from closets. & nbsp; Remove dishes from cabinets. & nbsp; Pull beds, dresser, chest of drawers, away from walls. & nbsp; On non porious surfaces use a 10% bleach and 90% water solution to wipe down any hard surfaces including walls. & nbsp; Spray closets with Lysol or a similar solution that kills airborne bacteria. & nbsp; Bed linens need to be washed. & nbsp; Clothes that have been stored in closets need to be cleaned. & nbsp; Like I said everything in the house needs to be cleaned. & nbsp; 4. & nbsp; Things that appear to have mold need to be either cleaned or dispsed. & nbsp; & nbsp; 5. & nbsp; Ensure that your entire AC unit is cleaned. & nbsp; After cleaning install only filters that has an ASHRAE Dust Spot Method rating of greater than 60% or a MERV rating of 10 or more and is replaced on a regular maintenance schedule. & nbsp; 6. & nbsp; In the attic, the insulation needs to be inspected to ensure no wet insulation remains. & nbsp; Since you have had roof leaks in the past it is imperative that you inspect the insulation. & nbsp; Any wet insulation needs to be bagged and removed. & nbsp; Insulation needs to be moved to ensure there is no mold colonies growing under the insulation or in the attic. & nbsp; Any mold growing in the attic needs to be sprayed with the 10% bleach and 90% water solution. & nbsp; This should keep busy for a long time. & nbsp; If you have any questions please ask.
