Guest guest
Imagine that, the CDC says the trailers have " toxic formaldehyde " , but when we use the term " toxic mold " , which most people can understand, every critic in the world starts jumping up and down screaming " there is no such thing a toxic mold. " Again with the word games. grrrr. CDC Reports that FEMA Trailers Are Toxic InjuryBoard.com - Tampa,FL* June 11, 2008 Category: Toxic Substances Tags: FEMA trailers, formaldehyde, toxic injury Posted by: Jeff Rasansky http://dallas.injuryboard.com/toxic-substances/cdc-reports-that-fema- trailers-are-toxic.aspx?googleid=241568 It's been two years since residents of the FEMA trailers along the Mississippi Gulf Coast began reporting a myriad of health problems. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced on Thursday that government tests confirmed the presence of toxic formaldehyde in travel trailers and mobile homes provided by the agency. FEMA has been trying to relocate all of the residents of the trailers as soon as possible due to the hazardous chemicals being present. The levels of formaldehyde gas in mobile homes in Louisiana and Mississippi were five times what people are exposed to in modern homes. As the summer heat rapidly approaches, the gas levels will only be raised. Currently there are around 114,000 individuals living in FEMA- provided mobile homes and trailers. Guest guest
Well the CDC's hand was forced. They ignored it as long as they possibly could, and one reason they were forced is there were so many trailers in one place after the disaster of Katrina that it could not be epidemiologically ignored. The mold problems are due to all kinds of construction issues all over the place, and so it is not as coherent. > > Imagine that, the CDC says the trailers have " toxic formaldehyde " , > but when we use the term " toxic mold " , which most people can > understand, every critic in the world starts jumping up and down > screaming " there is no such thing a toxic mold. Guest guest
It must be awful living in a trailer with formaldehyde toxins. Formaldehyde makes my heart race and I feel anxious--almost manic. llaci
