Guest guest
i've been buying ERFA from universal drugstore in canada for a couple of years and i don't have a problem with it. in my case it actually seems to work better than armour. it's my understanding that erfa is the canadian generic for armour. i get an Rx for armour and tell them i want erfa. i scan it and send it attached to an email. i was diagnosed with celiac about three years ago ... and about the same time switched from synthroid to armour for my hashi's. once i began the natural thyroid and stopped eating gluten i lost about twenty pounds. i still get wheat belly often ... and am still trying to find the foods that are doing it. it's a lot of trial and error and listening to your body ... not just what the doctors or test numbers say. hang in there and ... keep your chin up. Guest guest
Thank you so much for your response. I will check into that. I'm thinking that the Armour may be my problem. I'm glad I found this group. It helps that others have or are going through the same thing I am. > > > > i've been buying ERFA from universal drugstore in canada for a couple of years and i don't have a problem with it. in my case it actually seems to work better than armour. it's my understanding that erfa is the canadian generic for armour. i get an Rx for armour and tell them i want erfa. i scan it and send it attached to an email. > > i was diagnosed with celiac about three years ago ... and about the same time switched from synthroid to armour for my hashi's. once i began the natural thyroid and stopped eating gluten i lost about twenty pounds. i still get wheat belly often ... and am still trying to find the foods that are doing it. it's a lot of trial and error and listening to your body ... not just what the doctors or test numbers say. hang in there and ... keep your chin up. >
Guest guest
Hi, I, also, use Universal Drugstore. It is a top-notch company. I usually get my NDT in a week or eight days. The prices are better - around 20% less than NW Pharmacy. I am not sure where the idea that Erfa Thyroid is generic Armour. Actually, both used to be owned and made by Parke-. A little history, Erfa Thyroid is the most like the *old* Parke- Armour. P-D sold Armour Thyroid in the USA to Forest in the early 90s, who then reformulated the inactive ingredients like they did again in 2009. IMHO, Forest is not forthright in their dealings and has hurt many people with their shifty way of doing business. I am not saying never make changes but when you do you need to be open informing EVERYONE so they can make appropriate adjustments, too. P-D kept their Armour-Canada, later they merged into Pfizer who eventually sold it to Erfa Canada (Erfa has four Canadian companies plus Erfa Belgium). Erfa Thyroid is the same old P-D Armour with the exception of slightly less hormones per each tablet. I feel blessed to have found it. You may want to check Canadian pharmacies for the CIPA Rx seal and also pharmacychecker.com to find a reputable company. Guest guest
Thanks, Bj It sounds like Erfa might be better and I will try Universal. Does your doctor also make your Rx for Armour and then you ask for Erfa?
