Guest guest
I work for a large health care system in the desert. I recently moved from an office building (above ground) to an office in the basement of one our hospitals. I've had 8 respiratory infections in the 8 months I've been there, 2 within a couple weeks of each other, and they don't seem to be impacted much by antibiotic therapy. When I get these infections, as I currently have now, they typically last for a week to ten days. I'm constantly short of breath, frequently not even able to speak while walking at the same time. When I get these infections, my thighs feel as though someone has kicked them and I have a very persistent dry cough The basement is covered with a grainy substance that falls off of the ceiling, there have been numerous sewage leaks, two just recently, powder falls from the A/C unit and the building was built above an aquifer. I have a feeling there's mold or some other contaminant in there. Does anyone know if there's a reliable, simple to use kit available to check air quality? I have to be cautious and do this myself before I take it up the tree. I imagine if I make too much noise without being sure, my management career will " be in the basement " in more than the literall sence.
