Guest guest
I once worked for a government body and was told that 4 minutes was the average time that people could tolerate 'info' such as television news, or read an article. We were duly trained to produce information that didnt impinge on the ability of the person to read or inwardly digest beyond that time! In the "old days" when we were taught how to know the time on a round analog clock or analog watch using Roman numerals, it was easy to know what the time was. That is how I and many others grew up at that time.As society has become increasingly "dumbed down" with no thanks to the media (the reading level of the average local newspaper is at the fifth grade, while publications like the Wall Street Journal are at a twelth grade reading level), people seem to not understand or comprehend the math behind Roman numerals and need a much simpler explaination through numbers. Maybe they just do not see a need for Roman numberals anymore. So regardless of what GRASP's view on the "5" and not the "V", this is my take on it.------3. Why a "5" and not a "V"?
