Guest guest
I think it is worth mentioning again as a consumer, a nurse and a mother who observed horrific side effects in her child that there are no guarantees to the safety of Miralax/PEG. I was personally told by my gastroenterologist who was a personal friend, " Do not take this product more than a week. No one has any idea what the long term effects might be. " Shortly after a colonoscopy and large doses of Miralax I was diagnosed with malignant hypertension. My Family practitioner, a friend and my neighbor who is a cardiologist spent months trying to determine the cause of my unexplainable Hypertension. There is a correlation with increased BP after colonoscopies. I have spoken to a handful of people who have personally experienced it. (anecdotal yes... Worthy of research? I think so!) No one makes the connection, because everyone assumes it is related to the aging process. I never thought I would have blood pressure issues in my lifetime. Is this " substance induced hypertension " Appears to be... A child may 'appear well' on the outside, HOWEVER major disruption to the internal homeostasis is suspect with this drug! Beware! There are many safer alternatives. Is it worth the risk?
