Under the Bush Administration, the power of these agencies to police and do their jobs has been seriously gutted or has had those with political ties placed at the heads of these agencies. I can't even count all of the government agencies that have been called for this. Will name only a few: 1.US Surgeon General Carmona, left early because of the Bush Administration's interference with his office. 2. US Attorney Alberto Gonzalas stepped down rather face the music for politics in going after judges. 3. EPA head, Christi Todd Witman, her debacle of not warning 911 workers of the health hazards from the area. 4. Brownie, head of FEMA, for his debacle with the handling of Katrina 5. Walter Hospital overseers for the debacle of outsourcing, wasting money, and getting little in return. 6. The Whistleblower overseer office, accused of retaliation against whistleblowers 7. The woman who oversees government contracts...outsourcing to friends 8. ATSDR, Frumkin - exPres of AOEC gutting De's findings of the Great Lakes Pollution 9. Rumsfeld, selling us a boat load of Avian Flu vaccine...while being a major stakeholder in Gilead, the manufacturer of the vaccine. 10. Blackwater..mercenaries aka private contractors..who we fund to do the job of the military. These guys make far much more money than our troops but we have little control over what they actually do. 11. EPA quietly shutting down their libraries making public access to info much more difficult 12. Office of Management and Budget... " peer reviewing " all of the science the agencies put out. Guest guest
Good site, Sharon. It affects trade...and the Supremacy Clause can be asserted as the standard. It also tries to balance states rights v. federal " framers " intent. The " Framers " were the authors of the Constitution. Each state cannot coin money. The feds " occupy the field. " There would be 50 types of money within the states. The problem is the agency thing, which are funded by Congress but are " Executive " run. The president picks the heads of the agencies. So he or she has that power. Then the Court steps in to decide on the balance of the power, like these cases before it. Guest guest
I have a theory about all of this. This is what the American people have wanted for so long say thirty years. No government interference and fewer taxes. We have elected politicians who have not always served us but they told a good story and so they got elected. The best thing that could have happened to us as a population is that BUSH did get elected or appointed whatever. In any case he has AWAKENED a sleeping giant. The American people (thank you) have woken up and they are getting it. It's the same with the pharmaceutical companies they have been getting everything they wish and guess what? Many don't trust prescription drugs anymore. In fact many are not taking anything these corrupt companies make. Big Pharma are getting what they wish. Now we find that children exposed to mercury emitting plants have a higher rate of autism. Thank you Bush for lowering the mercury emitting standards. Now 2 parents out of every 150 children are ripped that our government has exposed us to these toxic chemicals all in the name of the almighty buck. It's about time America I'm glad you are awake now. Sharon Hanson > > In a message dated 5/17/2008 5:11:08 A.M.
