Guest guest
Do it as soon as possible, it takes a while. Don't expect to get it on the first try. I got deneid even with 4 Dr's saying I'm disabled. The system is broken a From: Laurie Lowery <lannl4@...> Subject: [] Disability qualification Date: Monday, June 23, 2008, 8:07 AM Hi to all. My fiance and I are now having to sell our condo we bought a year ago and move back to our hometown where the cost of living will be much less because of the damage from the mold poisoning to our health and finances. I have been a stay at home mom for 21 years and am now looking at going back to work if I am able. My health has improved some but along with my chronic fatigue and many other debilitating symtoms I'm not sure how I will do with a full time job. My question is if I find that I cannot handle working I may have to try and get on disability but I have no idea how one goes about doing that. An advice would be helpfull. Thanks, Laurie
Guest guest
My husband is on SS disability due to mold injuries. You need to go to your local SS office to apply or go online. Remember, when filling out the forms, unless you have a condition that ensures automatic coverage, you need to forget about WHAT CAUSED your injury and focus on what you can & cannot do. SS doesn't care about what made you ill, just what you are capable of doing or not doing. You age will make a difference, cognitive abilities, etc. Medical records supporting your claim are essential. Hopefully, you are working with a doc that understands mold illness. Good luck, Sherry In , " Laurie Lowery " <lannl4@...> wrote: > > Hi to all. Guest guest
If you have a state, local or federal representative that you can write to they may be able to at least help speed up the process by writing a letter on your behalf. Best of luck and health to you. > My husband is on SS disability due to mold injuries.
Guest guest
I was talking to my senator's office last week and the guy was telling me to file for social security and I told him I had not done it because you go through so much, get denied the first time, etc. He gave me some lady's name in the office to call-I have not called her yet. I will have to call and see what she has to say, probably nothing but I will check it out. One thing you have to have worked like 5 of the last ten years or something. I have been ill for ten years and before that was raising my daughter. Sue on this site told me they sometimes use some of the time you were a housewife or something. Will check it out. Guest guest
Hi Laurie, I would suggest that you find a SSDI lawyer who knows chronic fatigue who can assist you with appropriate filing. Find a lawyer with a good reputation of winning cases for people disabled with CFS. Toxic mold illness will not get you as far as CFS. Finally CFS is starting to be acknowledged. I have been denied SSDI but I have a lawyer now who is appealing. I have also contacted my senator's office and have a case worker who is trying to speed up my hearing due to financial hardship and deterioration of my illness. You can do the same. Ask for a case worker, mail your documentation to him/her, and get your case expedited. Otherwise it can take years.
Guest guest
Try Allsup for SS help. _http://allsup.com/Home.aspx_ (http://allsup.com/Home.aspx) Very helpful and nice to work with! They do all the work and only charge if you receive benefits. From what I hear it's less than an attorney. Sue Hi to all.
