Guest guest
Thank you for sharing and taking the time to follow up. I have researched the 2 products myself and have found that Pancrete fails to meet the requirements of the national fire code for HVAC systems (NFPA-90A) and cannot lawfully be installed in anything but very small air handling units. I also found that Pancrete is self- leveling and not designed to be pitched to the 1/4 per linear foot as required by the ASHRAE standard for acceptable indoor air quality (ASHRAE 62.1). AQUIS does appear to meet the requirements of both NFPA-90A and ASHRAE 62.1. Furthermore, I contacted AQUIS to inquire about their use on an antimicrobial. They've indicated that their antimicrobial is registered with the EPA and that the registration number is provided on the CPR-1 datasheet found on their website. They took note of the " certified " typo buried in their website and were going to correct it. Upon asking AQUIS for some references, they shared a few references from hospitals and office buildings to follow up with. The references I was able to reach were positive about AQUIS and recommended that we use them. One of the facilities had used Pancrete previously and noted that it was more of a quick-fix and failed to correct the pitch in the condensate pan. We have decided to try AQUIS. Although the system is more expensive, I'm concerned about the risk associated with installing a product that does not comply with the fire code. I also believe that removing the standing water from my condensate pans is the only way to eliminate the biological fouling that I so often find. I will respond back to the forum with some feedback on what I find. Regards, a --- In , " Carl E.
