I was aware Kathy Marshack and her group had been approached to help write this article. What do you think about this article? Best as always. No earthshaking new information, yet still some interesting turns of phrase that I hadn't considered. Imagine my surprise as I read through the article and noticed that Jurintha Fallon's story was featured. I'm acquainted with Jurintha through another community and it was good to see her comments included here. Best, ~CJ

Guest guest
Forgive my snarky first response. This will be more measured. The article adds little to what even new members of this list know already. I read it and viewed it for what it is: thinly veiled self-promotion (for the most part...considering the amount of time dedicated to shilling books by authors featured in the article or the videos). Volkmar's stuff could have potentially had more meat to it, but I know Fred and it takes a while to get him rolling. Nothing special about the Finches...again, a book promotion that really isn't all that informative other than containing the usual bromides. The Marshack stuff if fluff: how many responsible professionals do you know who use Meet Ups to get people to attend their groups? Even if Marshack doesn't charge, the promotional approach of using Meet Ups is just about as tacky as you can get. Not shooting the messenger. I just found the informational content quite weak, and given the sophistication and insights of many of this discussion group's members, the article and its links and videos really doesn't seem to add much. Meyer , what's your issue with Marshack? I'm really interested why you don't like her. I've always liked her writing, and don't interpret her views as being negative of Aspies at all. While she primarily writes for a NT audience, she seems to be focused on a win-win for all involved.
