LOL > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ Val - Just wanted to make sure I understand this - Stopping the Isocort the day of the blood cortisol test will drop the levels low enough to be tested since the cells will immediately take up any cortisol in the blood????? And my results should be low enough for hydrocortisone treatment just after going off of Isocort that day or shortly before? If this test was for a saliva test - it would require going off of the Isocort for 2 weeks since the saliva test reflects the intracellular cortisol concentration? (not the extracellular?) Two weeks without Isocort is required since that is the time for the adrenals to return the cortisol output that they are capable of doing on their own? Just wanted to make sure I am understanding this whole concept?? Thanks, Janet >
Guest guest
The thing is it will not be accurarte for showing what your adrneals MIGHT be capable of, it is almost guaranteed to show LOW function a your body will be waiting for the exogenous cortiosl you have been giving it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Val - That is what I wanted to hear. Like I said earlier, the doc knows I have been taking the Isocort (showed him the bottle - and told him the approximate hydrocortisone content was 2.5mg/tab). I just wanted to make sure I tested low to support the use of hydrocortisone. Thank you Val!!!
