Guest guest
Mostly sales pitches and some mis-information, or at least mis- directed information. OSHA doesn't test products and they don't determine safety. OSHA investigates the workplace and enforces regulations. Only. Toxicology reports don't determine qualification on GRAS. Identification of the enzymes will match them to the GRAS list. Matching the GRAS list may not be the same as the FDA accepting the total formulation or application. Making pesticidal claims puts them under EPA, not FDA. However, as previously posted, EPA may accept the FDA GRAS designation and not require registration with EPA. This is a murky and confusing area but the wording from the Web site doesn't clarify. Contact EPA about this particular product. Get the registration number from the company. If they have one. You mention industry standards. If this product were as effective, and without side effects on people, as claimed then many companies might be using it. Insurance companies would be insisting. This was written in 2005, after all, in response to the massive hurricanes in Florida. There's been plenty of time. Of the major remediation contractors and consultants I know, none recommend this type of remediation. However, each company makes more money by having their own product and procedure. Even if they use TM-100 but sell it under their own private label. Finally, there is an element of immediate question when they promote themselves as both " mold testing and remediation services. " If you ask your barber if you need a haircut what do you think he will recommend? In this case the mold testing part has an interest in finding mold and reporting a need to remediate - with their product! And the remediation services will, of course, want you to test for mold both before and after because the company makes money from both. I do not mean to say anything is wrong, unethical or illegal with this particular company. My intent is to identify areas where we need more information before an informed decision can be made. Guest guest
Carl, Very well said. I think because money is the almighty my personal opinion by my own experience is to follow exactly what you said here. Haveing you test my home with no financial gain other than services rendered not only gave me a wealth of information not given by the combined company that also tested but most importantly the comfort of factual information leaving how to fix the problem in someone elses hands arming me with the facts to know if it was being done correctly or not. And Carl, if I am allowed to toot your horn a bit, I have finally gotten through your book. I would recomend it to anyone and everyone on the board and more. It is very easy to understand and answeres so many questions asked here. I am by no means advertiseing for you but you have become one of the few out there who knows what he is talking about and beyond that cares about what he does. With this in mind I find no harm in others knowing you and your information is out there and avail;iable. & nbsp; Chris... From: Carl E.
