Jan - your posts regarding Jim and his leg exercises & weight bearing

exercises led me to post the following links. Of course, discuss with

a doctor before your LO try any type of exercise - but the following

may be found useful.

Jan you had two posts in the past. One when Jim was ambulatory and he

had the following exercise regime:

And when Jim was in bed recovering from a stay in the hospital:

The above led me to find information regarding Passive Range of

Motion Exercises:

Range of Motion Video ($35)

This presentation is specifically designed to teach a lay person or

professional nurse the appropriate way to provide Range of Motion to

a patient. The program flows with an " easy to follow " full

demonstration of each movement and an explanation of the reasons

range of motion is important and the need for each procedure. There

is no complicated dialogue, and simple definitions for words related

to range of motion are given.

Ideally getting the LO to do the exercises themselves AKA Active ROM

is best... but the above could be useful tools... Again, it should be

approved by a doctor or asking the NH for someone who does PT to show

you a few moves you can do for your LO w/in the confines of their bed

and/or wheelchair.

Jan it would be greatly appreciated if you could let us know what

exercises Jim does now. Thanks :)
