Guest guest
Hi, I have been taking my daughter Rose(MDS)(aged 1 on Monday!)to Physiotherapy & Play Therapy every few weeks since she was around three months old. Thankfully she is still not showing any developmental delays but they want to keep an eye on her. For the last few months she has screamed and refused to do anything for them during the sessions. I suggested coming less often (only if I noticed something worrying) as it is upsetting for Rose and myself. I feel now that the Physiotherapist has become very negative towards us and does not say anything encouraging. She keeps saying that I will end up with a spoilt child if I do not persevere. Has anyone had similar experiences? I have completely lost perspective and I dont know whether I should keep bringing Rose to these appointments or do I request another Therapist? I am so grateful for anyones opinion as I have no idea what to do for the best. P.S I better explain that I did not request the therapy but in the UK your child is usually automatically signed up based on their diagnosis. Not sure if it's the same in the U.S?
